What a great time! Of all the BDs that I have raced in, I have never been on a team where our results were so close to the team in front of us. Over 13 hours, and the 3rd place 4 person team beat us by less than 6 seconds! Wow! We rode hard, and had fun at the same time!!!

If you go to the following link, it shows each of the rescue vehicles that they use. carfirerescue.com/mountain-trail-rescue-wagons-for-sale.htmlAbout a month ago we saw "four wheeler" tracks on the Skinny. We also saw the rescue trailer up on the gravel road. Since they were testing their equipment, could the tracks have been from the rescue wagons, and not a four wheeler's? Makes me wonder . . . .

The trail is clear.
Quite the storm around Merriwether area last night. Sportmans Corner lost their sign, we had several roads closed for downed trees, and the power was out until after midnight.
The only thing with that is that it will take "true" moderators to monitor the subforums in order to move any "unofficial" threads that may be started there to other areas when needed in order to prevent the possibility of jumbled topics.
To start with, there's nothing "going on". I was just trying to help tidy the place up a bit, that's all. Again, there was no intent to shut anyone out of discussions, only to curb the posting of irrelevant and/or unofficial information in this area of the forum. I just set the switches in what seemed to be the most efficient way to make use of the subforums.
The idea of an Event Area is outstanding. Using your terms, I think the switches should be wide open. This area is no different than the General Area. When people want to talk about Bartram, they post on Bartram. When they want to talk about FATS, they post on FATS, etc., etc.. We haven't had to move any threads that I am aware of. Seems like the people that post on our forums are very responsible. If we do have to move a thread, the moderators listed are always on the forums and won't have any problem doing so.
It's great to have an area for each of the different types of events. We just disagree with keeping them closed to others starting threads on the topics in each subforum.
Our forums keep growing and getting better and better. We do appreciate your work.

We are heading to Horne on Saturday to take care of the trees. There will be four of us working this Saturday, and a work party is being planned for the weekend of August 13 and 14. There are some sections that need mowed and lopped. Watch for the details on the website and forum.

We were on the Great Wall by 5:30 p.m. last night. Great ride. One thing I love about the southeast is that you can still ride when it is hot. Love riding under the tree canopy.
Met three guys from Florida who had completed three loops, and were asking about Tower and Big Rock. MD told them how to get to the north parking lot as they didn't want to include Deep Step and the connector. They are on their way through to North Carolina for the Mt. Mitchell ride.

This is the perfect event for riders of all skill levels. It is low key, fun, and you can do as many or as few laps as you want to ride. If you don't have a team, but want to be on one, post here and see if other people want to get on a team with you!

Nice video tour of the trails and skills area. We still have to work on a skills area in the CSRA! I know the Cleveland group raved about the Enterprise Trails, but nice to hear from someone in our own group. How was Cloudcroft? When we got back from our NW GA trip, we were thinking about dragging our RV up there sometime in the future and riding both Racoon and Enterprise South. Cloudcroft is the closet state park. If I remember right, that is where you and your family stayed for this trip. Thanks for the videos!

We were planning on working on Hickory Knob last Sunday, so Saturday afternoon decided to pack up the 5th wheel and spend the night at the campground. Can you say "deafening?" Had one fly into my helmet while riding on the trail. Quick stop, helmet off, dumped it on the ground, and continued on.

New Bartram, after the water works road going towards Wildwood but I can't tell you just how far. I do think it is after the rock "levy" but before the big dip. Maybe someone else can give you a better description of its location!
