Yo! Im Heather. I'm 33 and I have lived in Augusta, GA my whole life. I have been mountain biking for just over 2 years. My biggest regret is not having figured out sooner how much I love this sport. Better late than never. I dont ride nearly as often as I would like but when I do it is with some of the all around coolest folks I've ever had the pleasure to meet. I am still working towards being totally comfortable with my bike as an extension of myself. I've learned a lot riding with new friends and I continue to learn more about mtb'ing and myself every time I ride. Joining SORBA-CSRA has introduced me to tons of great people and experiences. I'm always game for riding with new folks. Weekends are best. Feel free to message me.

Hey y'all. I have a garden in my backyard and we are home growing pesticide free tomatoes and varieties of hot peppers (cayenne, habanero, jalapeno). I have more than I can use or give away to family so I am attempting to sell some to recoup my water bill ;D. I have several pounds of tomatoes just picked yesterday and lots of peppers ready to be picked. If anybody is interested please p.m me.

Rode West Dam to Lake Springs loop to Petersburg and back Saturday. Carried bike over dead looking tree not far from Lake Springs Road headed toward Petersburg and another carry over about 1/4 of way in going ccw on lake springs loop. Blackberries in the field nearer to Petersburg are prime time!

Once, Julie and I came in the back way and couldnt remember the even/odd directions...of course we chose wrong and ended up meeting a dude but promptly turned the other direction after realizing our error. I would just suggest putting the even/odd directions at that back entrance if that isnt already in the signage plan.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions. I think we are sold on the Asheville area. Looks just like what I had in mind...and I agree Humbug on the BF! Although Brian the link you sent to those cabins in Helen made it a tough choice..those are spectacular!! Dustin your restaurant suggestion looks great and has lots of unique menu items. Thanks!
Angela: I've used VRBO before too and love it. There are just so many to choose from. Trying to wade through them all and find the one that suits us best. Im so indecisive...it could take a while. Thanks.
Barbara: I think I will hit you up about planning something around Dupont. Since you and Angela both suggested it, I will take ya'lls advice.

Nitro: We would like to stay in a small cabin with hot tub in the $125/nt range. Unfortunately BF doesnt ride so that is not going to be the main attraction on this trip but we will be taking the bikes in case I can convince him to ride something with limited climbing (suggestions). More hiking and outdoor/nature sightseeing type stuff during the day (waterfalls, historic sites, etc.) and nice dining at night. Thanks again everybody!!

I'd like to get recommendations of places to get away for a long weekend within a short drive of Augusta (less than 4 hours). Ive lived in Augusta my whole life and never visited any of the mountain regions in the Southeast. I'd like to be able to stay in a cabin (suggested rental companies??) near areas that I can ride/hike/explore/sightsee during the day and relax with a nice dinner in the evening. Where around here do you guys like to go that you would suggest. Thanks in advance.

Trent, Stacy, and I rode Keg Creek today. This was my first time on this trail. Great views. I dont think I have put so much thought into riding a bike before...and I enjoyed it. Man those roots are like gremlins. I think every time it rains they must multiple because there are a crap ton of them and some special little gems hidden under the leaves as well. Thanks to Trent for keeping us on the trail. I could easily see getting lost out there without a proper guide. It was fun to try something new and what a way to end the year! Lots of trees I had to step over. Big pine tree not far from the really hairy creek crossing (or in my language the "yea right" creek crossing) that is about waist high and no way around but to climb over. I feel like I was assaulted after riding that trail. ;D Happy New Year everyone.

Me and nephew got up at 2:30 and watched for a few minutes. He is 11 and had never seen one before. It was awesome....perfectly clear and you could see every star in the sky. My brain goes into system shutdown when I ponder the vastness of space. Mindboggling
