tonight (12/20), really early tomorrow morning, there is a full lunar eclipse starting at 1:30 and being a full eclipse at 2:40ish fro about 70 minutes. it really looks cool with the shadow of the Earth being a dark red on the moon.
with school out for Christmas break it is a good time to hall the kids out in the cold to see it.
also on a brighter side after tomorrow the days will become longer

I've got the alarm set. Going to drag the oldest one out to see it. It should be cool.

Me and nephew got up at 2:30 and watched for a few minutes. He is 11 and had never seen one before. It was awesome....perfectly clear and you could see every star in the sky. My brain goes into system shutdown when I ponder the vastness of space. Mindboggling

Doug those turned out really cool! I snapped a couple myself at 2 (finally ended up using the snow/beach setting) to give the clearest vision of the actual eclipse - but yours are great!
