This Saturday (April 30th) Mistletoe State Park is having their Spring Fling Festival. Guests can participate in an introduction to geocaching, learn the Do's and Don'ts of animal rehabilitation, see a live Birds of Prey program, build birdhouses, and participate in camp cooking. Other activities include hayrides, spring crafts, lawn games, face painting and more. Call for times. $5 activity fee per vehicle, plus $5 parking. 706-541-0321.
SORBA-CSRA will be sponsoring a MTB ride. We'll have a tent set up with info on the club and a few of us will lead rides as well. Meeting up at 10:30, probably roll out onto the trail around 11:00 or so. Mistletoe is probably my favorite trail in the CSRA. If you haven't ridden it, this weekend will be a good time to do it! We may even do the Christmas Party ride if enough people are interested.

Stacey and I will be there!
Quick questions... the website says "Other activities include hayrides, spring crafts, lawn games, face painting and more. Call for times. $5 activity fee per vehicle, plus $5 parking." Are we gonna have to pay $10 to get in the park that day? Or just if we want to do their extra activities? I wasn't sure if they were considering this ride one of their deals.

Count me in. Hope to bring the niece and nephew if I can find someone to come along and keep an eye on them while I ride. Sounds fun!

Not sure exactly where we'll be meeting, but it shouldn't be hard to find us. We'll be around the spring fling area, there should be signs to get you there. We're setting up at 10:30, probably start riding around 11:00.
If you're just coming to ride, you do not have to pay the Spring Fling activity fee. You do still have to pay to park.

Good turnout today! We had about a dozen riders I guess. I took a few pics and a bunch of video, but, apparently I had the camera lense turned all wonky, so everything is tilted like 45 degrees. My bad. Here's some pics from the first creek crossing, the only place I whipped out the camera. None are very clear, but I love how everyone is smiling ;D chaosx44 charging deep creek Stacey tried the feet up method but ran out of momentum and ended up with wet feet just like everyone else. seenvic getting wet. kconner doing the same I'll post a video from this same creek crossing a little later. dparrot and dsquared: how did things go down at the tent? EDIT: Video here: contour.com/stories/mistletoe-creek-crossing--3

When I got back to the tent, DP and Ken were holding down the fort. One guy stopped by, chatted a while, and left with an application. Possibly one more before I got there. JT and his entourage joined us not too much later.
We closed up shop ~4:30PM. Although not too many customers, I think several sorbacsra folks met and had productive chats with the new Ranger.
