D - I wondered how you managed to stay with that group of fast riders on the 80 miler the other day. That is great that you have stepped it up a notch. Good for you.
It seems like I have been on an 8 or 0 stretch for a while. Either 8ish miles of 0ish miles. With too many of the 0ish miles days of late.
But 8 and 0 on the same day, making 80 miles. I got some work to do.

Tomorrow's route is good. Cantrell is tough. There will be some stuff there that you won't believe you just rode. You will never forget this one.
Pisgah is a just a whole different level.

Great ride and report.
I wonder how it would be the other direction.
Congrats to all.

Bracken Mtn. Can ride from there into Pisgah.
It's near the Music Center. When you get to the Music Center, go left up the steep gravel road to the parking lot. If it is only a mile, you may just ride as the parking lot is small.
The Music Center is well signed. Just follow those and you can't miss the gravel road just before the Music Center entrance. Have fun.

Stick to Pisgah and Dupont. Don't go to Tsali as is 90 minutes away and similar to the trails here.
I'd ride Laurel Mtn and Pilot Rock. Squirrel Gap is good.
You can't go wrong with what Wooglin said.
And DuPont is really good too.

I'm interested, but I would likely start mid-morning. What time? I may join you. I was thinking earlier start as well.

If there is a mechanical, you may need lights to finish.

I have yet to do a better 34 mile MTB ride in my life. Ever.
This one is it.
I never knew NGA had this. By far the best ride in GA. One of the better in the SE.

I saw an old friend at the bikefest....Marco White. And another, Dale Parrot. Two guys who have been important cogs in the SORBA CSRA machine for the past 10+ years.
Both have moved away and no longer live here.
It makes me think that our leadership has been at it a while. Some have moved away, and others (me) have taken on new chapters in life that doesn't allow much riding time or trail work time.
Will others step up? Some already have. In the last few years, JP3 and Kozlawski (sp?) have really stepped up big. Dustin moved here a few years ago and has put a nice spin on things for us.
But for those who have been around a while or just moved here, I have a feeling we are at a crossroads. We need more leaders and we need more followers who are in training to become leaders.
We need you.

Love the pics. What a beautiful day for a ride, and glad you had several join you. The perfect day riding your mountain bike! We are blessed with so many great trails. Thanks for the pics! We're blessed alright. For you and your husband. And an assortment of others who reign down trail blessings with hard work. Thanks. Great pics. I almost made that ride. Rode some powerlines instead. Not too bad for a ride from the house.

That is awesome.
I saw John and Julie the very time they ever rode at FATS. I ran into them on Deep Step Rd, where Deep Step crosses on the way to Big Rock.
They were pooped. And borderline scared, I think. I knew I was talking to two people who had bit off more than they could chew....that day. I told them the easiest thing for them to do now is to pedal up Deep Step Rd back to the car and they did. I thought I'd never see either of them again.
And I don't think I did until the next work party. And there they were.
John and Julie have become key cogs in the SORBA CSRA machine. And damn fine riders as well.
I doubt I could spin around all 6 loops at FATS right now without a seriously slow pace and a lot of determination. I say FATS is easy, and it is. But it is still almost 40 miles to ride, and that is rarely easy.
Congrats to John Pilcher. And thanks for all you do.

I don't agree with Dustin that the vitamin b is the active ingrediant. I think it is the caffeine.
I don't intake alot of caffeine in general, so I think it has an effect on me when I do take it.

Once again.
I am just wondering what some others, who have tried it, may think of it.

I just can't resist. Is this your boss at the prison or in your medical practice? And are you seeing new patients? Come on, man. It is small bottle of caffeine and alot of vitamin b. I can think of many things I have injested and still do injest that will put me a dirt nap long before a small bottle of caffeine and vitamin b. I don't discount a placebo effect either. But I think it may work on me because I don't intake alot of caffeine in general. I don't think there is anything in that small bottle other than caffeine (and some placebo effect) that gives me a boost. I am just wondering what some others, who have tried it, may think of it.
