Anyone use this? It works for me. And I find the costco (kirkland) works just as good for half the price.
I wonder if 5 hour energy makes it for Kirkland. Same flavors, same effect. And the biggest expense is advertising.....and kirkland doesn't advertise.

Daniel - Is that the official position of SORBA CSRA or your personal opinion. :-)
Generally, I'd agree with your post. I admire these guys for thinking, dreaming, planning, and putting it in action. That is commendable. And not weak, at all.
Here is weak......I can't even get motivated to ride at all. It is strange. So I am going to look at the Canal and see if I can't make it better for when I do want to ride again.
I may have seen one of these bikes outside Mellow Mushroom the other night. I definitely saw a DIY motorized bicycle, but I don't think it was the exact one in the picture or if it one going on this trip. I looked at for a minute and thought....why? and wow, then shuffled on in the door.
Best of luck to the riders on their trip. I will check out the website as they go along. I like stuff like that....living vicarioulsy.

governor.sc.gov/Pages/default.aspx The Forks Area Trail System is posted Closed Oct 11-24 for all activities except hunting. This morning there was a dozen cars in the Trail Head parking lot and I counted nine Mt bike riders while hunting. Lack of enforcement of this closure is an annually reoccurring problem and calls to the Forestry Service and DNR result in an endless loop. Can you determine who is responsible for enforcement of this closure? Call 803 637 5396. That is the USFS office. I wish you luck. I am on your side of this issue. I am almost certain the governor's office has nothing to do with USFS lands.

Thanks David and Paul for putting this together. You guys did a ton of work and I hope the Ride Center brings riders to the area to enjoy our trails and spend money while here.
I wonder if we need to be out there signing the long rides. I've had that on my mind for years, but it has never gotten off the back burner.

Ya never know what is going to end up printed when you talk with a reporter.
Overall, it was nice. Unfortunate that Hickory Knob got confused/thrown in with Baker Creek in the history lesson part. I think HKSP trails are awesome and I am very proud of them.
Also unfortunate that the volunteer aspect of the construction was left out.

Ken Young said the trail was in good shape at the meeting on Weds. It was OK at best. Alot of overgrowth all over. When you come in from Keg and go right in the loop, you start with 3-4 stops for trees not rideable. But that settles down after a while and it is just slightly overgrown, primitive Mistletoe at its finest. It was good to get back out after 3ish months of not getting out.

That is good info. Thanks. Hidden gem for 3 kids on geared 20" (wheel size, not frame size) bikes. Maybe some training for The Virgina Creeper in the spring.

It's amazing the things you notice on foot. I've never noticed this tree before. I bet Brian W can guess the location of that tree within a few feet. And what time on Sunday? I know the route. Maybe able to do that.

I have the fix for the RR around the big hole by the road/ponds. It's easy. I always wondered what to do here, and now that I found this RR, it will be easy. A little bench to cut, but not much.
The two way is also easy...just some hard work of bench cutting and clearing a line.
My issue is time. I haven't ridden in the woods since the June 2 LCHT ride. For those who know me, this is a bit out of the norm. I hope to ride this weekend.
I miss riding and working on the trails. But I have so much going on right now, I can't seem to get out.

I drove past it this morning and noted the sign.
S.L.P. Mexican Grill is what is on the sign.
It is awesome. And if you order off the spanish menu, you won't have a steaming hot plate of melted cheese on top of generic tex/mex.
And if you are game enough to try the beef tongue or tripa tacos.....you are more game than me. I draw the line at Chorizo.
All my edits today simply corrected the spelling of chorizo in various posts.

This is the best authentic Mexican I have found in the area. They have two menus. One is like all the other Mexican places around, and one is in Spanish and is the real deal. I don't venture into the beef tongue or tripa tacos, but the Chorizo tacos are awesome. So are the chicken tacos. I found the pork tacos not so good.
The tacos are served with a soft corn shell, the meat, a lime and homemade pico that is terrific. Its slightly hot. Perhaps really hot to some.
I think I have been there 15ish times now and have seen 2 other non-hispanic customers, ever. The only english I hear in there is either spoken by me or to me.
But the tacos on the Spanish menu are awesome. Worth a try. Located in North Augusta on Atomic Road in the big Bingo shopping center.
I am only a customer of this place. I am simply passing along some info to you if you like really good tacos.
And the Modelo Negra is $3.

Four of us headed back out this past Sunday for some more trail work at HC. Cut out another 20 or so trees (S3 and S4), and there's probably 4-6 more in S4 and S5 that we'll will take care of next weekend. Nevin ran the DR in S2 and S4, the areas that had become severely overgrown and were pretty much unrideable. There was one burned out bridge in S2, and we used hands and McCleods to remove it, then shape the ground and make it rideable. The bridge that should be replaced is still rideable, but has a broken stringer which is resting on dirt. Hopefully we'll get a work party formed and get it replaced. It won't last another 12 months any way you look at it. MD Damn it. And thank you and crew.

Thanks for the pics. Looks like a fun and well-ridden trail. Nice to see that the trail has alternate lines, as recommended in the IMBA manual... MD Some of the alternate lines didn't look to be "designed" in unfortunately. There were several that were straight downhill cutting a line straight through some pretty sweet switchbacks. Overall the alternate routes looked to be well thought out and designed though, as did a lot of the features. The berms I thought were really nice. Most of the logs were removed, but there were a couple that were left in place, although they were either notched or had dirt piled up on them to make them less intimidating. Very few alternate lines are meant to be there. When they are, it is usually a good idea. The reality is most alternate lines are made by those who can't ride the line built for them. So, they make their own trail next to the one someone planned and built. And some even come onto forums and say it is ok because they read it in the IMBA Book or on the internet. We made a few alternate lines at FATS, on purpose. The challenging line in now gone and only the easy line is there.
