Anyone use this? It works for me. And I find the costco (kirkland) works just as good for half the price.
I wonder if 5 hour energy makes it for Kirkland. Same flavors, same effect. And the biggest expense is advertising.....and kirkland doesn't advertise.

My boss and I had a conversation about this stuff about six months ago. He was slamming it, and proclaiming its virtues. I did my typical and looked at the ingredients, and percentage of daily values. The RDA values are a bit too out of the ordinary for me.
He is (and I am not saying you are) on several meds, for various "ailments". His docs can't get him "aligned". He is always tired.
Are you willing to purchase and drink these until a dirt nap visits you? Is this truly what your body and mind needs? My guess is no. If you are burning the candle at both ends, well, they will eventually burn out. Need to take a breather somewhere here. Making someone else a millionaire won't fix the underlying issue.
Just sayin'

I just can't resist. Is this your boss at the prison or in your medical practice? And are you seeing new patients? Come on, man. It is small bottle of caffeine and alot of vitamin b. I can think of many things I have injested and still do injest that will put me a dirt nap long before a small bottle of caffeine and vitamin b. I don't discount a placebo effect either. But I think it may work on me because I don't intake alot of caffeine in general. I don't think there is anything in that small bottle other than caffeine (and some placebo effect) that gives me a boost. I am just wondering what some others, who have tried it, may think of it.

If I recall "sport beans", gels and other energy type bars/foods have caffeine in them. I am not sure the difference in amounts between 5Hour and the ones I mentioned. I for one have stayed away from the new power drinks like Red Bull, 5Hour, Rock Stat, etc.

It has about as much caffeine as a 'leading cup of coffee'. Whatever that means. The Extra Strength version has as much caffeine as a 12oz cup of coffee, but is otherwise the same (at least the label is the same).
I think it's the B vitamins that jack you up, not so much the caffeine. Each one has 2,000% your daily recommended B6, and 8,333% for B12. Sounds like a good way to turn your pee neon yellow.
I'm with BrianW, I stay away from all that stuff.

Once again.
I am just wondering what some others, who have tried it, may think of it.

The 5 Hour Energy people brought some by the firehouse several months ago....they probably left about 30-40 bottles, so I tried one. Tasted horrible, and I was asleep within 30 minutes. I mean passed out snoring on the recliner in the middle of the day asleep. I'll never spend money on a 5 Hour Energy or any other energy drink for that matter. Interesting point that I had never thought of was that I was taking in a good deal of caffeine at that point...sweet tea and Coca Cola were my hydration staples at the time. The energy drink trend at work went something like this: Red Bull to Full Throttle to 5 Hour Energy (briefly) and now to Mio. IMO, none of them work. Snickers however, works wonders for me

I don't agree with Dustin that the vitamin b is the active ingrediant. I think it is the caffeine.
I don't intake alot of caffeine in general, so I think it has an effect on me when I do take it.

We've got some super smart doctor type folks on here....hopefully one of them will chime in on how/why it works the way it does.

I don't intake alot of caffeine in general, so I think it has an effect on me when I do take it. it's the a**load of b vitamins, not the caffeine. I tried one of those up in brevard. Tasted awful, made me wide awake and jittery. Or maybe it's the placebo. Whatever works for you, not my thing.

We've got some super smart doctor type folks on here....hopefully one of them will chime in on how/why it works the way it does. Super smart = not posting online for a myriad of reasons but largely the p*$$ing games that surround the internet and nutrition. Since I am not a "smart doctor type" I can add that it's not typical to see much of a response with B12 unless there is a deficiency. Many of my patients are on B12 for pernicious anemia and as a response to Alzheimers effect on the brain. The later may be questionable. Feel free to correct me, I have no ego in these matters. Although I have not seen any peer reviewed articles on B12 ('cause I did not look for them) as a supplement/stimulant in otherwise healthy folks, I am leaning VERY hard towards the caffeine being the actual stimulant. In those that are deficient, rare these here meat eating parts, there may be a stronger rxn to B12. From my personal observations it seems not all caffeine is the same. Mg for Mg I get a downer effect from colas but the coffee caffeine truly leaves me "perked". Someone mentioned going to sleep after taking a 5-Hour which may be similar to Ritlin use where a stimulant is piled on an already amped system and it focusses and calms it, at least that how I understand it. From my personal observations it seems not all caffeine is the same. I agree. I drink coffee so strong you can stand a spoon up in it. I just love the taste of coffee. It really has no stimulating effect. However, I purchased a bottle of guarana supplement from a health food store and they are no joke. They give me the heebie jeebies. Make you feel like you want to shake your skin off. Needless to say, I still have a full bottle.

Have tried 5 Hour twice. Both times on a long driving trip. I did not expect anything. First time, bang wow, wide awake for 9 hours. Second time, nothing. Probably won't bother again. I'm sure it is better for you than slamming diet coke, but I like my soft drinks.
