This is the best authentic Mexican I have found in the area. They have two menus. One is like all the other Mexican places around, and one is in Spanish and is the real deal. I don't venture into the beef tongue or tripa tacos, but the Chorizo tacos are awesome. So are the chicken tacos. I found the pork tacos not so good.
The tacos are served with a soft corn shell, the meat, a lime and homemade pico that is terrific. Its slightly hot. Perhaps really hot to some.
I think I have been there 15ish times now and have seen 2 other non-hispanic customers, ever. The only english I hear in there is either spoken by me or to me.
But the tacos on the Spanish menu are awesome. Worth a try. Located in North Augusta on Atomic Road in the big Bingo shopping center.
I am only a customer of this place. I am simply passing along some info to you if you like really good tacos.
And the Modelo Negra is $3.

I drove past it this morning and noted the sign.
S.L.P. Mexican Grill is what is on the sign.
It is awesome. And if you order off the spanish menu, you won't have a steaming hot plate of melted cheese on top of generic tex/mex.
And if you are game enough to try the beef tongue or tripa tacos.....you are more game than me. I draw the line at Chorizo.
All my edits today simply corrected the spelling of chorizo in various posts.
