Scam dude. I've responded to some of those ads and they're always out of town and want to ship you the bike. I flag the ads.

4 or so non riders down w/in a mile after crossing the powerline headed out. Also, a big dead tree fell on the very end of the Big bridge at the trailhead. It crashed through the railings but the deck of the bridge held.

I have both a hard tail and a full suspension bike. I like the ht because it climbs better and is more efficient. But after a few rides on the ht and then riding my full suspension I realize how much more I enjoy riding while on the full susser. On the fs I don't have to ease up to cushion the thud of a root or rock like I do on the ht. I run 2.2 Kenda Slant Six on rear and Ikon 2.35 on the front of my fs. On the ht I like more rubber in the rear. Usually a Specialized Ground Control 2.3 or Continental X-king 2.4. If I had to choose 1 bike to do everything with it'd be a full suspension with shock and fork lockouts.

Tower and Big Rock are in fine shape. Deep Step was ok (pre-shower). Brown Wave was ok even after today's shower. Rained on me while on G Wall and Skinny. Great Wall is kinda wet. Trees down near 1.5 mile marker. One hand sawable other waist high will need a chain saw. Another near mile 6: waist high, chain saw size. Skinny is really wet and over grown in some spots.

If your not comfortable shortening the hoses then don't worry about. Just bolt em on and go. Try to zip tie the lines so they don't flop around too much. Try to minimize brake drag by spinning the wheel and looking or listening for the rotor contacting the caliper. Keep moving the caliper ever so slightly till the wheel spins as freely as possible. I left them full length on my large frame Stumpjumper.

Either I was in the zone and blitzed it or the big rider tree on Great Wall has been cut. Trails are super fast right now.

Kenda Slant Six mtn bike tire size 29x2.00. Low rolling resistance but still grips well. This is the SCT, sealant approved version. Less than 30 trail miles. I ordered the wrong size. Gave it a try but needed more volume. $25

Lick Fork is in fine shape. A few small trees down but nothing unrideable.

Deep step is in poor condition. There's alot of real muddy spots.
Tower and Big rock are in pretty good shape. A mess of a tree down w/in the first mile of tower going ccw.

I rode Deep Step clockwise and connected out to Big Rock and Tower. Deep step has more muddy low spots than I expected but everybody seems to be staying on the trail. Big Rock and Tower are in really good shape. Probably 99% mud free and fast. I used to not like those 2 trails that much but they're growing on me lately.

Da-dang is right! In that case, yeah, all of FATS is possible in a "few" hours.

A strava avg of 11+mph is usually good for a top ten, so that'll give you an idea of how long 37 miles will take you. I may be off some that week and could meet up with ya for a couple of trails.

Nobody I guess uses it anymore, but the pumptrack is in bad shape. It seems rideable but a family had a big tent setup on the edge of the track when I stopped to check it out. They looked to be living out of it or on an extended camping trip. And I felt like I was intruding so I didn't stick around. I heard the waste water station has expansion plans so the track may be a lost cause.

Got my butt kicked by Modoc today. Definitely the wrong trail to try out my new low profile Slant Six rear tire. This was my second time ever on this trail, first time was a year ago. Thankfully a lot less trees this time. Only 1 big pine right at the end that was too big for me to ride over (or even attempt to). I'll spare the details but I got about a years worth of practice picking myself up off the ground today. Overall trail is good. They haven't burned it as of today (Saturday) but looks like they're getting ready to.

Rode here for the first time in a while and the trail was in great shape. It was also more fun than I remembered. Maybe it was the 29er wheels handling the roots better. Last ride here I was on a hardtail 26er. Thanks to the group that cleared it recently.
