Thanks Brando, we always have to search for those dates! We always recommend wearing hunter orange if you are in the woods during hunting days. Although there is no hunting on public lands on Sundays in South Carolina, Georgia hunts 7 days a week (you might have seen the signs on the Bartram Trail asking you to wear hunter orange from October until January). No hunting in Hickory Knob State Park (SC) so it is a safe bet any time. Mistletoe State Park is located in Georgia and they have had organized hunts in past years but the park is closed to the public during the hunts. Highly recommend using a little extra caution during the first two weeks of hunting season (think of the frenzied football fans who have waited excitedly for the season to begin and a lot of new hunters out to enjoy their first hunts). We always try to stay out of the forest early morning (not a problem and during dusk when visibility is lower. Important to respect other users in the forest, we work on having good relations between all the user groups so everyone can enjoy this great resource.
