Oh, and the bike short tan line...you think it's bad for dudes, imagine how us ladies feel in a swim suit! LOL[/quote I've always wondered why girls don't ride in bikinis more. Seems like the most sensible attire to me.

Saw the first snake of the year last night on the trail. Summer's here.

Unless you are doing something illicit or otherwide illegal, you won't have any trouble. Wear your flasher and watch out for deer. The only case I've heard of was two bikers who were riding and talking very loudly before daylight. Public Safety was called, intercepted them and made them get off the Greeneway.

Welcome to suburbia, where if you don't have your children in an organized athletic program (baseball/softball, football, or soccer) by the age of 4, then your fitness as a parent is questioned.
North Augusta is in the business of serving its taxpayers, the majority of which fall into the above category. The overwhelming demand is for those facilities. The trails and other passive recreation facilities will come, but not until primary purposes are ensured (and until the future leaders are determined). Again, I think there is opportunity for a outside city government effort to get this done, just as the pump track and disc golf course at RVP were.
Northview Park is one of the Round 3 Aiken County Sales Tax projects, which technically does not begin until 2013. The RVP Improvements were funded under Round 2. That does not mean that no work will begin until 2013, the City has the ability to borrow from the program to advance the projects.

The trails shown on the concept plan are just that - conceptual at this time. The primary purpose of the park and initial emphasis (and funding) by the City will be on the baseball/softball facilities. The park land is bisected by the same former railroad corridor that the Greeneway is constructed on. The land to the west of the railroad has a good bit of relief (60-80 ft) and has some small streams/ponds. It is not useable for athletic facilities. There's not alot of it though. A trail here would likely be tight & twisty, similar to the Canal trail, but more hilly and with some water features.

Rode Wine, Modoc & Turkey today. There were 2 trees down on the upper part of Wine above the big dip, 1 more toward the Key Rd end. Other than that the trail is good to go.

Rode modoc today for the first time in a few weeks. If it wasn't 91 degrees, I would have though it was late fall with all the leaf litter on the trail from lack of rain. A few new trees/limbs down.

My advice - stay out of Helen as much as possible. Check out Little Ridge Creek and DeSoto Falls. And of course you have to go to Goats On The Roof. On your return trip, I recommend driving by Lake Rabun and stopping at Minnehaha Falls and Toccoa Falls.

I don't ride either very often, but FATS gets points for fun-ness.

Don't know how to create the poll-thing. My match-up is Middleweight Class I guess: Christmas Party Ride (Keg + Mistletoe Connector), or Wine + Turkey out & back

I have a new, in the box, 2010 Rock Shox Dart 2 80 mm fork, rim and disc brake compatible. I'd like $90 for it.
