Very Impressed !
My recent last ride at FATS I took a really hard fall . I had to realign the handle bars and the seat . I was scraped up a little and had pine straw and clumps of dirt in my helmet visor . The thing that really impressed me was one of the SORBA members came along shortly after and took one look and asked if I was alright ? I looked a lot worse than it was . I assured him I was ok and slowly walked my bike toward the South Trail Head . He turned his bike around and followed me all the way to make sure I actually made it to the parking lot ! He did not have to do that but went out of his way .
Additionally, recently got the chance for the first time , to meet several SORBA members out on the trail while they were on a small group ride . Great bunch of people ! Talked and talked about Mt Biking ! Enjoyed the conversations . My whole image of the local SORBA was a little distorted solely based on reading the forums . But after meeting them face to face and talking to them in person about our mutual love of Mt Biking and of their philosopy and ideas they are trying to implement, I was totaly impressed !
My hats off to the local CSRA SORBA !
Sincerely Charles Garner

I can not believe me and a couple friends were planning on attending the upcoming SORBA meeting in hopes of possibly joining, on the frequent suggestions of John Liebe and recent Jimmy Culpepper . Being blatantly insulted as posting one of the 3 worst posts , I have more pride than to show up at the meeting or to try to suggest to any of my fellow bikers ( many ) to do so in the future . Thanks for setting me in my place . Charles Garner
edit: corrected the spelling of my last name. (JL)

Someone let me know when something transpires . Everyone I talk to have quite riding the two new trails because the bit of road to get there eats up their tires . Thanks !

The seasoned Fats trailhead is being called South Trailhead now . I guess in anticipation of a North Trailhead ? Has the North Trail head been built ? Or location decided ?

FYI : Bartram Trail Lake Springs to West Dam ; 3 huge trees down . One is around a blind curve , at the bottom of a speedy downhiller . Caution !

Not sure if it's still there ? BUT there is or was a place in the Dairy Queen shopping center ( corner washington and Furys ferry ) that has a mexican market where most mexicans do there real grocery shopping and to the side they have a little restaurant that local mexicans say is the only place to get authentic mexican food .The Chronicle did a mexican tasting to rate the "Best" mexican restaurants and in the article they gave this place hands down 1st place and the survey turned out to be just to determine which mex restuarant would take the 2 nd place . The recent storms were not nice to HKSP ! Lota trees down ! I asked several who rode Sunday in the group afterwards : " How many trees did you think were down , 15 ? " They all quickly repled " At Least ! " Half dozen first mile , then about 1 every mile .

Is there a game plan in place for putting the big bridge back in place that got swept off its foundation before Bike Feast ? It's wedged "past" a tree that may require a little disasembling before moving back up stream ? Thought a few of us could pick it up and move it , I was wrong .

I work Monday thru Saturday and doubt I could take a class on Sunday ? Not this coming Saturday but next I could join in the work when I get off at 4:00 ish ? Or weekdays after 6:00 . still plenty of daylight . Let me know

Those 3 or 4 were still there Sunday along 2 or 3 more ? Also the big 3 foot in diameter leener has slowly gotten where you hit your head going under . I would hate to be under it when it falls to the ground . I have a small chain saw , would the guys in the water dept hear the noise and come running ? I can not do anything with the 3 footer but can do some good with the ones by the river ?

Without deer hunters , the chance of hitting a deer in your car on the way to the trails skyrockets !

August 18 2008 . After riding Tower Saturday we stopped at Bartram for a cool down . Its still not ridable in Lake Springs or from Lake Springs to the Dam . One tree right after another down . May be easier to get a logging crew or maybe Pollard Lumber Yard to clean it up ? Bartram Lake Springs to CCWW road was just one down close to parking lot ?
