Very Impressed !
My recent last ride at FATS I took a really hard fall . I had to realign the handle bars and the seat . I was scraped up a little and had pine straw and clumps of dirt in my helmet visor . The thing that really impressed me was one of the SORBA members came along shortly after and took one look and asked if I was alright ? I looked a lot worse than it was . I assured him I was ok and slowly walked my bike toward the South Trail Head . He turned his bike around and followed me all the way to make sure I actually made it to the parking lot ! He did not have to do that but went out of his way .
Additionally, recently got the chance for the first time , to meet several SORBA members out on the trail while they were on a small group ride . Great bunch of people ! Talked and talked about Mt Biking ! Enjoyed the conversations . My whole image of the local SORBA was a little distorted solely based on reading the forums . But after meeting them face to face and talking to them in person about our mutual love of Mt Biking and of their philosopy and ideas they are trying to implement, I was totaly impressed !
My hats off to the local CSRA SORBA !
Sincerely Charles Garner

Glad to hear that your experience with fellow SORBA members was more pleasant than you view the forum as being at times. The thing that I try to remember when reading the posts, is that I have no idea what the person posting is feeling at that moment. What may look confrontational to me might be a witty raport between two or three people that know each other better than I know them. I honestly believe that if someone needs help, other mountain bikers will offer any help they can. Everyone that I have met since joining SORBA has been nothing but standup people. My hats off to the SORBA-CSRA members.

That same type of thing is what made me join SORBA...
My first time to FATS my rear skewer loosened up on my bike while I was haulin ass down DS. Came over the top of a whoop at 20+ and the rear tire departed from the rest of my bike... crash... ouch... rear derailleur smashed... on the walk of shame back to the car every person within line of sight came over to try to help and make sure i was all right...
Lucky for me, I had on a helmet cam and was recording... the bad news is it was my old shitty quality camera and edited with even worse software that pixalated the footage even worse when I posted it on youtube... check out around 2:41 of the video at

Reminder : Fact , Mt Biking is the fastest growing sport in the country ! We need to be ready for the flood of beginners and put our best feet forward with open arms . Consideration and respect for others ! Go Sorba !
