;D Could we actually have 5 days of sunshine and no rain? That is the weather forecast! I hope so!!! I want to get on my bike! Keep your fingers crossed--we might actually get to ride at Bartram. If not, plan B is to ride the Greeneway.

Even if there isn't an official explore the trails ride, we can get a group together. I also want to get a group to go out to Fort Yargo in Winder, GA at some point. Very fun trail, less than ~2hrs from Augusta. The horseshoe drop is AWESOME. Rode quite a bit of Yargo a couple years ago. Didn't have time to finish the whole trail, but what we rode was fun. Would love to get out there and ride it again!

Any chance we could get Mistletoe on the list? They've got some great riding out there. If you want to add it to the ETTS list, check with Paul. There is no ride scheduled for July. If you can be there to lead it, I am sure it could be added to the list.

I'm surprised they haven't posted the registration fee, nor opened up registration for the Summit. I have looked everywhere, and can't find anything, except that they were going to open registration in the fall of 2009.

It has already been sold. In November, a young lady and her father came up from Charleston and St. Mary's and joined us at the Bike Fest. I met her the next day out on the Bartram trail. We talked awhile and she told me she loved my bike and if I ever wanted to sell it, to let her know. So I did, and she is buying it.

My husband and I are camping at Petersburg this weekend. The Bartram trail goes within 50 feet of several of the campsites, and there is a trailhead/parking area just outside the entrance to the campground.
If you would like to meet up with us for a Saturday ride, please email me and we can set up the details and exchange phone numbers, etc. I will not have email access possibly after Thursday afternoon, but definitely no access after Friday around 4:00 p.m.

Parked at Parson's Mountain Rec. area a few years back, found the trail, and rode the outer loop. We didn't know that no one was riding the lower sections. It was tough getting through the underbrush and debris. We went from Parson's up to the metal bridge, through the rest of the scenic area, rode the loop cockwise, then from C back down to Fell. It then took us awhile to figure out how to go around the field at Fell to find that section of the trail. We got as far as the paved road, and then there were signs that said the trail was closed because it was private property from that point on. We took the paved road back to our truck at Parson's Mountain. Like you, we missed the G to C section.
What we do now is park at Fell, ride to C, then turn right and ride the loop counter clockwise. We usually skip the scenic area, and just finish the loop back to C and then Fell. Makes a nice ride!

Since moving here, we have seen the lake full, but not over full pool. When you drive up 28 through Parksville, the road is right next to the lake. A friend at work said he has seen the water over that road. That's high.

Ladies--just a reminder that our next ride is this Sunday! The weather prediction is 69, mostly sunny, and 0 percent chance of rain. It sounds like a perfect day for our Ladies Ride. We will meet at 1:30 p.m. in the FATS parking lot. Hope to see you there!

With the way they have laid out the Lake Springs Trail, I consider it as just part of the main trail. To me the trail is starting at Petersburg, riding to the paved road at Lake Springs, going left on Lake Springs Trail (just before the gate), riding Lake Springs, then turning left on the West Dam section. Turn around at the West Dam parking lot and do the whole thing in reverse. That is the Bartram Trail!!!!
If you skip the Lake Springs Section, you just cut off a portion of the trail! :=)

It turned out to be a beautiful day for a ride. The Bartram trail was perfect, skies were blue, and the lake was full. Loved the white caps on the water. There were 8 of us ladies riding the trail, and for 6 of the riders it was their first time on one of our monthly Ladies Rides.
Thanks, ladies, for coming out! I had a great time!

Due to the rain we have had, we are going to ride Bartram, rather than FATS. We haven't had a lot of rain since Monday, and I was hoping we wouldn't have any today so the trail could dry out. Instead, we have had some drizzling on and off all day. The Bartram trail drains so well, and will be in great shape by tomorrow afternoon. We will meet at the Petersburg trailhead and the ride will start at 1:30 p.m.
Please wear orange! If you don't have an orange hunter's vest, wear very bright colors--not white. There will be enough of us with orange hunter vests that we won't have any problems being seen!
See you tomorrow!!! I can't wait to get back on my bike!!!!!!
