What: Bike Patrol & CPR/First Aid Training
When: Saturday, February 20, 2010 8:00am
Where: Room 201, Brant Hall, 25810 Chamberlain Ave., Ft Gordon, GA 30905
A group of members from the brand new Cape Fear Chapter of SORBA located near Wilmington, NC are traveling here to Augusta, GA to attend Bike Patrol training and get CPR/First Aid certification in order to start up their own National Mountain Bike Patrol group.
I am so excited that people from elsewhere in the Southeast are coming here for Bike Patrol training! I've already invited them to come back in May to help us out with the Summit!
If you'd like to attend the training and join our local group of Bike Patrollers, then come on out. You'll only need to show your driver's license to get through the Main Gate (Gate 1) off Gordon Highway. Make sure you have your proof of insurance and car registration just in case they ask for it. All you have to do is show up. All training materials will be provided.
Bike Patrol training is free but there is a $35 charge for CPR/First Aid training of which SORBA will reimburse you. CPR/First Aid begins at 8:00am. We'll take a lunch break at Noon and begin Bike Patrol training at 1:00pm which will end at 4:30pm.
The National Mountain Bike Patrol provides a great service to the bike riders and hikers who enjoy our many trail systems, not just here but across the country. We provide assistance, education, and information to any in need. It's a great way to give something back to our sport while doing your favorite thing...ride a mountain bike!
Hope to see you there!
Be safe!
