Made a 9 hour drive to Northern Virginia for a weeklong MTB trip with a buddy of mine. Yesterday we hit Schaeffer Farm (MD) but I didn't think to take some pictures. Hit Patapsco State Park (MD) today, lots of roots, some nice stream crossings, some drops, and some decent rock gardens. There are several of these waterfalls throughout the park: The trail travels from the bottom right corner of this shot towards the upper left corner; I walked it Lots of neat features; a couple of them large like this one. Very stable; fairly easy to ride. Trying to get artsy: Also hit up a skills park about a mile away from Patapsco's trailhead: Nice pump track, nice rock gardens and skinnies

Just my iPhone, and instagram as a ghetto editor. Thought they looked kinda instagrammy. I use an iPhone w/ instagram myself when I forget to bring my regular camera, but it really produces a decent picture.

It poured out here in the Patriot's Park area last night. No rain in Martinez area, but I definitely heard the thunder in the distance. Parked in the North lot yesterday and rode gravel roads in the FATS area...on my way back to the truck I jumped on upper Big Rock and rode to the fire tower and back to the trailhead. 2 trees down on BR between the connector and trailhead (CCW), and a gully has formed from erosion. There are several spots that are holding water, mostly in dips. Other than that, the trail was in good condition.

How is Primal's sizing compared to Voyer? I wear the same size jersey for Voler's NMBP jersey (the old style) and Primal's Urban Fit (the new style NMBP jersey) if that helps.

Rode from Petersburg to about 1 mile short of Wildwood. Overall, the trail is in good shape. There are several wet/soft spots spread throughout this section, but overall the tread is dry enough to ride. The wet spots will probably need some work (deberming/armoring). There are probably 10-12 downed trees spread throughout this section, some may be riders, most probably are not. I don't have an exact location of each tree, they're spread pretty evenly.

that's unfortunate to say the least. I parked at the North Trailhead today to ride some gravel roads....no tire tracks on big rock, but someone has dumped a load of trash/yard waste in the parking lot: Overall though, there's plenty of fun to be had on the gravel roads, and some good views as well: Who says there's no elevation change in the CSRA?

Two trees down between West Dam and P'burg. One is just over a mile from West Dam, the second is about a mile from P'burg. Both need a chainsaw.

I was planning on heading down there but got dates mixed up and picked up a shift with my part time job. Hopefully I can find someone to work it for me....

Saturday would be best for me, I'm not sure what I have going on Sunday. May or may not be available Sunday. If anybody is heading out Saturday, let me know and I'll definitely join in.
EDIT: Well crap. I had some family issues pop up, so now it looks like I will not be available on Saturday. I'll hafta play it by ear if anybody is going to do any work.
