Comparing a GPS track of the Boyd Pond trail to Aiken County GIS parcel boundaries suggests that four or 5 sections of the trail cross onto private property. YMMV.

According to the Army Corps of Engineers, the Petersburg parking lot will be OPEN for parking Friday through Sunday. The Petersburg parking area will be CLOSED Monday through Thursday.
If you do park at the Petersburg parking lot, Friday through Sunday, you still need to access Bartram Trail via the temporary detour that is marked through the campground.

I share MD concerns, I looks like the logging company may have been a little over zealous and left little buffer between the trail and the parking lot. it is what it is now, I just hope riders don't cut the trail leaving and returning to the parking lot. Unfortunately, people were already doing that - the cut through from the southeast side of the parking lot was well traveled. The trailhead improvement plans call for a split rail fence to surround the parking area.

Yes, I am discussing Bartram. I thought that was obvious. It seems as though the logging company has left no evidence of a trail. If you are unhappy about the tree clearing and thinning necessary to expand the Petersburg trailhead parking lot, build a picnic pavilion, bring in electricity and running water, a bike repair station, a changing room, a bike wash station, and a donation box, I suggest you go to the Army Corps of Engineers Office and share your concerns.

The area reminds me of Horn Creek sections 2 and 4. Hopefully we can regain the awesome trail we have had for years. It appears the logging company gave absolutely, 100%, and again, zero, concern to the use of that area as a resource of recreation for cycling, walking, and running. MD What are you talking about? Bartram? If so, this is the first part of a trailhead improvement project that we helped the Corps get funded.

Due to wet trail conditions (2-3" of rain last night plus rain earlier this week), the USFS, Long Cane Ranger District, has implemented an official closure at FATS. This temporary closure is the real deal and applies to all trail users (bikers, runners, hikers, walkers, etc.). FATS appears to have been hit hard with rain last night night and this morning because the Ranger says there was water flowing and soil movement across the parking lot this morning. p.s. Per this USFS Notice, the Call Before You Haul Hotline seems to be not working.

The Petersburg trailhead on Bartram Trail will be temporarily closed for timber harvest starting on Tuesday, May 26th. Please use Lake Springs, West Dam, or the Wildwood trailhead for parking and trail access. For trail users, there will be a marked detour through the campground and around the closed trailhead. This timber harvest is the first phase of a $100K expansion project to improve the Petersburg trailhead, parking area, and amenities for trail users. For details or more information, see this press release from the US Army Corps of Engineers. Thank you for your support.

There's tree down on brown wave about 3 miles in going clockwise. It's close to the bottom of the down hill section with the skull and crossbones. A little bit before the bench if your going counter. It's is not a rider at all. Riders will have to go around it. At the monthly meeting last night, I was told there is a tree down on Big Rock (don't know where) and on the FB page someone has a pic of a tree down on Deep Step. The tree location on Deep Step is below.

Yes, the color code is the same that was used for the AJBW jerseys. Different monitors display color differently. Cool. The proof looks peach to me on both a PC and iPhone screen. Primal assures me that they will match the color code (+/- a few %).

Just to clarify, the color shown in the image is NOT the actual color, right? The actual orange color is the same as the AJBW jerseys, like this: Yes, the color code is the same that was used for the AJBW jerseys. Different monitors display color differently.

Just like the original SORBACSRA jersey, we designed the hi-vis Orange SORBACSRA jersey so that the primary design elements remain large and readable, regardless of jersey size. The orange color should be identical to the Andy Jordan's Bicycle Warehouse hi-vis orange jerseys that you see on the trails and roads (thanks for the help Drew). Primal will donate $10 from each jersey to SORBACSRA and $1 to IMBA. You can pre-order your SORBACSRA orange jersey now until May 31st. Go to our homepage ( sorbacsra.org) and click on the Orange JERSEY link for more information. You can choose local pickup ($65.00 donation) or have your jersey mailed to you within the US ($71 donation). We plan to submit our order June 1st and anticipate jerseys arriving in mid-August. Thank you for your support.

There was an assessment of trail conditions at FATS yesterday evening and the trails were still wet. With additional rain expected this weekend, the USFS has decided to keep FATS closed and will reevaluate trail conditions next week. While assessing FATS yesterday, there was evidence of at least one bike on the trail during this closure and one trail runner was caught out on the trails. Please do not poach closed trails and respect the USFS closure. Otherwise, the USFS law enforcement folks will be making more frequent visits.

non rider just 0.5 mile in heading towards petersburg. Trail is in good shape. We cut that one out this morning. Heard there were a few more between Pburg and Lake Springs; we'll try to get them next weekend.
