(Jul 30/1:30pm) FATS Update>
It’s been 24 hours and the trails are drying out and should be good to go tomorrow (Jul 31st). There was an additional system that rolled throw around midnight but it appeared that FATS only picked up a sprinkle.
There will still be mucky areas so help keep the singletrack single by staying in the middle of the trail! Thank you!

Can you help?? We are still short 4 volunteers for the Modoc Trail Work Party on Sunday, July 30th. We really need 2 of them to be experienced DR mower operators since the terrain on Modoc can be challenging in sections!
If you can help, whether you use that trail or not, please email us at sorba.csra@gmail.com
Fun fact we once had a road rider volunteer to help on that trail!
If you can’t help please help get the word out!

What are you doing on Sunday, July 30th?
Come join us for the Modoc Trail Work Party!
Trail Champions Nathan Maxwell and Dusty Newby have cleared all the trees and are ready for help with the annual foliage maintenance work party. Email us at sorba.csra@gmail.com
Never ride, run or hike that trail? That’s okay, if you are available…. come help. It benefits our biking, running and hiking community!
Reach out if you have any questions. We provide on-the-job training so you don’t have to be an experienced volunteer.
And many thanks to all the volunteers who signed up for July 15th work party!!!! Having the right number of volunteers to do the jobs helps us get in and out in a reasonable amount of time and we are going to need it!
You’ve checked your summer schedule and won’t be able to volunteer at all? Please consider becoming a member of SORBAcsra. Your membership dollars helps pay for fuel for all this equipment, repairs and maintenance and drinks & snacks for these volunteers!

Next up? The Deep Step Work Party on Saturday, July 15th! Sign up now by emailing sorba.csra@gmail.com
This work party is contingent upon receiving the part for the DR mower that is down but we need your commitment now to ensure we have enough volunteers! Thank you!
We need that awesome blend of bikers, runners, hikers, experienced and inexperienced volunteers to have a great work party. Please share with others! Three of our volunteers yesterday were there because a volunteer, who had already signed up, invited them to the “party”! Thank you Jack!!!

Can you help?
Work Party Great Wall> Saturday, July 8th! If you can help reach out to us at sorba.csra@gmail.com We will need about 20 volunteers!
Don’t forget this foliage busting is done entirely for the benefit of trail users. To mow, trim, lop all our local trails takes about 16 work parties during the heavy growing season. We will train you so no previous experience necessary. We love a good blend of mountain bikers, trail runners, hikers, experienced volunteers and new volunteers. Come join us!

We need you!
We only have 7 of the 15 volunteers needed for the Brown Wave Work Party scheduled for Saturday, June 24th
Since we began hitting all the local trails back in 2020 we have been able to count on our valuable experienced volunteers but have also had a great infusion of new volunteers as well. That is critical to continue expanding our volunteer base but also avoid burning out our experienced crew. We hope to continue that trend so if you haven’t come out to help before but use the trails, please come help by signing up for a work party!! Thank you!

(June 15/12:30pm) We currently only have one volunteer, other than the organizers, signed up for this work party…………can you help? If not can you help us advertise? It seems to be one of our most popular trails………..
Work Party #2 - FATS> Brown Wave Trail - Saturday, June 24th
This trail is slightly shorter than the Skinny Trail but we will still be using DR mowers, string trimmers and loppers to get the job done.
If you can’t volunteer for the work party please help us spread the word. We often have people tell us they would have volunteered if they had known about it!
Email us at sorba.csra@gmail.com to sign up!! Thank you!

System came through dropping nearly an inch of rain in the area of FATS. Fortunately most of it slid south. With no additional rain it will be 24 to 36 hours before the trails dry out.

(Jun 12/8am) FATS Update>
Picked up some additional rain in the early morning hours bringing the total rain accumulation to half an inch. It has been dry for a few days prior so trails should be okay to use this afternoon.
Again we don’t have rain gauges along the trails at FATS and with pop up and stray thunderstorms it can be difficult to pinpoint. Would appreciate feedback if much wetter trail conditions are ever observed> sorba.csra@gmail.com
