Just as these trails need the wheels, my wheels need the trails. I am in!

You know...I was just thinking....we might have WAY more cars than the Modoc parking lot can handle. Parking on the side of the road won't result in any tickets will it?

It shouldn't be a problem as long as all wheels are off the roadway.
SECTION 56-5-2510. Stopping, standing or parking outside of business or residential district.
(A) No person shall stop, park, or leave standing a vehicle, whether attended or unattended, upon the roadway outside a business or residential district when it is practicable to stop, park, or leave the vehicle off the roadway. An unobstructed width of the highway opposite a standing vehicle must be left for the free passage of other vehicles and a clear view of the stopped vehicle must be available from a distance of two hundred feet in each direction upon the highway.

The route is marked. I last rode Wine/Turkey/Modoc the first weekend of '08 and thought they were all great. Need wheels....and will get them tommorow.
I drove several of the gravel roads today marking what needed to be marked. What I drove on seem like a very fast track. Hardpacked roads with little gravel on them.
Should be a good time. See ya there.
If folks show up that say they are coming, it is going to be over 40 riders.

We'll be at the entrance of HC around 8:45am with a table...Let's hope for at least 40 people...Would like to see fiddy or more...That will give us a good shot in the arm for FATS fund raising. You started a good thing here.
We have not seen a mailed-in FATS donation in over six weeks. This should help quite a bit.

I'm sore. Everywhere. But especially from the waist down.
Great ride. Great turnout. Good times.
I wanna ride Wine again, that trail is awesome.
Also, who picked up a grey jacket and pants at Lick Fork? Those belong to my friend Kris, we left them there and came back to get them once the ride was over and they were gone.
PS - this should be an annual event.

Rockin good time Bill. Thanks, and thanks to all the volunteers out there. I thought it all went real smooth, mostly because of y'all's hard work. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day either. When are we doing Parks?

PS - this should be an annual event. Already being discussed. Our primary means of raising money has been the BD. It brings in good money but takes a tremendous amount of volunteer effort. Tremendous! We have been trying to come up with a sister event to the BD, and this may very well be it. The SO and I have ridden the TFFL ride in DuPont, and it is an event similar to the 49er. Give people a fun event to ride, mileage, provide some support, and make it for a worthy cause. We may spiff up the 49er a bit, but Bill's idea for a ride has lots of potential for many years to come. Michael

I would also like to express my thanks to Bill and the other volunteers. That was a blast! I was especially glad to see wheels on Wine and the back side of Turkey.

That was a huge day in many regards.
First, we managed close to fifty riders covering close to fifty miles. That's over 2,000 miles ridden yesterday!
Second, we raised some serious dough for FATS phase 3.
Third, we got four beloved old trails ridden in with a good tread and beaten down leaves.
Fourth, I was on bike for 5ish hours and a total of 6ish hours from the time I started to the time I finished. Along the way I rode with great old friends and some nice folks I met for the very first time.
I had fun. Thanks to the volunteers. Thanks to the donators. It was great.
