Damn that is sexy. Do u mind if i ask how much this set you back? I want to buy a nice bike for my GF one day, but I am thinking this looks like a 2500 $ bike or so. ? With the components that originally came with the bike, it was about $2,700. My husband swapped/upgraded wheels, brakes, handlebars, seat post, seat, cassette, derailleurs, etc., etc. Probably have about $3,800 in the bike. We have a bunch of different parts and pieces here at the house that he uses to build up our bikes. I absolutely love this bike!!!! Best bike I've had!

Bringing this thread back Here's my new ride, an On-One Scandal frame built up mostly with parts left over from my Anthem. It's not 'finished' yet, got a few upgrades in mind, but it's ready to ride! Just finished building it tonight, first ride tomorrow at the canal. The frame was green when I got it, but it was a really rough paint...felt like 200grit sand paper. Not sure if it was supposed to be that way not, but I didn't like it, so I stripped it down to bare aluminum and had Nate Z. from AJBW spray it with a urethane matte clear coat. Looks pretty sweet in person I think. Weighs in at just a touch over 26lbs as you see it, with a .44lbs tube in the front wheel and a heavy 2.55" wide front tire. An eventual tire swap and going tubeless will drop a lot of weight off the front end. Should be able to get it under 25lbs in it's 'final form' eventually. Specs: FRAME: On-One Scandal FORK: Fox F29 Terralogic, 100mm WHEELS: WTB LaserDisc Trail 29er BRAKES: Avid Elixer R STEM: Easton EA30 BARS: Easton EA30 SEATPOST: Salsa (borrowed till my Thomson shows up) SEATPOST CLAMP: Hope, quick release SADDLE: WTB Rocket V PEDALS: Crankbrothers Candy 3 GRIPS: Ergon...forget which model, has magnesium bar ends SHIFTER: SRAM Attack gripshift DERAILLEURS: Shimano XT CRANKS: Shimano XT CASSETTE: SRAM PG-990 CHAIN: SRAM PC-990 Hollowpin (I think that's the number...maybe not, can't remember) REAR TIRE: Specialized Fast Trak FRONT TIRE: WTB Weirwolf LT

What happened to the JabberWocky???

What happened to the JabberWocky??? It is still together, minus the seatpost. The Salsa post I borrowed kept wanting to tilt the saddle up, so I pulled the Thomson post off the Jabber and put it on the Scandal for temp. use. Got a 2nd Thomson ordered, so soon I'll have both bike ready to roll. The Jabber will see most of my riding locally. The SS works great here, and it'll keep wear and tear off the Scandal. The Scandal will be the bike that goes to the MTN's and on really long rides.

GREAT job on that frame Nate, looks awesome. The internal cable routing is super clean. Can't wait to see it in person.

very nice. love the in-frame routing and I really liked accents on the inside of the pedal too.
Good luck keeping those grips white. I have white grips and after a few wrecks they are hard to get white again.........in my experience anyway.

Primary: 2011 Trek/Gary Fisher Marlin 29er Disc Backup/Loaner: 2011 Sette Reken frame w/ old components The Sette looks pretty good built up! Now, we need a direct 26 vs 29 comparison on how they ride. It's not an apples to apples comparison since one has 100mm fork and the other an 80mm, but still, it'd be interesting to hear what you think.

I used to have a 100mm fork on the old wahoo, and I'd still take the 29er any day. Both bikes have comparable components, frame geometry and weight, with the exception of wheels and brakes, but the 29er seems to climb better and rolls over obstacles better. As seenvic has said, it just inspires confidence. I'll still take the smaller wheels out from time to time, bit you can see which bike is my primary ride

Today I moved up to bigger wheels! Nice bike. Lotta white in that pic, cars and bikes! Reminds me of my C-Dale F29er (in WHITE!). You'll enjoy that bike! MD

This showed up at my house yesterday, I'll be doing a review on it You'll be seeing me, and a few others, riding it on the local trails for the next month or so. I gotta say, after a quick spin up and down the street last night...it rides like a bike. Much stiffer than I expected, and I can't really feel any funny business going on. Can't wait to get it on the trails and see how it feels when really pushed.
