Just wondering what everyone's weapon of choice is for attacking FATS? I ride a Giant Yukon FX, it's probably the lowest grade FS bike you can find without going to Wally World, but I love it.

Turner Flux for the down, I like to have someone meet me at the bottom of every downhill section with my SuperFly for the climbing sections...this works great in theory but I can't seem to find any volunteers.

I'm riding a Giant Anthem. The original model, 3.2" of travel. Fun ride.
I don't know what my next bike will be. I'm leaning towards a nice light 29er hardtail.
Doesn't matter...it'll be a WHILE before I buy another bike.

YETI AS-Rsl. It has 3.75" of travel, and I wouldn't replace it with anything else.

More pics please. Individualism can't be conveyed through words alone. Let us see it.

I have this same bike and I really love it. The Lefty is great shock, you can't really tell that you hit any bumps (and I just came back from Tsali which has a lot of roots and rocks to rattle your teeth). It climbs a lot better than I expected, it feels pretty light for a big bike. I also have a Santa Cruz Superlight (which has been sent back to Santa Cruz because the frame cracked) and I think the ride is just about as smooth on the 29'er. I think it is a great bike.

How do you like this Cannondale? Love it. Have nearly 1500 miles and 150 hours on it since getting it this spring. No complaints at all. It has me sold on big wheels. That said, it is a hard tail, and big wheels or not, roots are roots and rocks are rocks. You still feel them! I am actively looking at bike specs for a full suspension 29er this year. Have it narrowed down to an Epic 29er or a HiFi 29er. Both are new for '10 but won't be available until December.

I think I remember there being a pretty long thread about it on the SORBA forums.... EDIT: Here we go. Looks like it was only a problem on the 26" version.

I think I remember there being a pretty long thread about it on the SORBA forums.... EDIT: Here we go. Looks like it was only a problem on the 26" version. Huge problem with broken rear triangles, especially on the 29er HiFi. We were camping at HKSP and happened to get to ride with a girl from Florida. She was sporting a brand new '09 HiFi 29er XL (yeah, she was tall!). Anyway, she offered to let me ride the bike, but I declined. We all took off for a lap, with Marco leading out. Halfway around the loop her back tire started skidding, and everything just looked, well, out of whack. Her chainstay broke, at the weld just behind the front derailleur. Long story short, if you hit the mtbr.com GF forums, there are tons of issues. However, for 2010 GF has done a complete redesign. Explained very well here: twentynineinches.com/2009/09/11/gary-fisher-bikes-press-camp-superfly-100-first-impressions/

Nice Cannondale ! That is exactly the bike I want ! I really like it. Go see Phil at Chain Reaction. He'll do you right. Nice shop, super friendly people. That said, I like all of our shops. The crew at AJBW are good peeps, and I have even warmed up to Brett at Outspokin'. He's one heckuva nice guy! MD
