FATS Update!
FATS is under official closure by the US Forest Service due to wet trail conditions.
This area had about an inch and a half of rain. We anticipate with the next few dry days and warmer temps it will more than likely be opened back up by the weekend but stay tuned for updates. Please respect this closure and help spread the word to protect this resource! Thank you!

(Dec 10/9:45am) FATS Update!
FATS is still under official US Forest Service closure. Please do not use the FATS until it has been reopened. There are over 100 miles of singletrack to chose from in this area other than FATS. Help protect this valuable resource!
Trail check yesterday before the additional rain came through the trails were drying out nicely and without additional rain would likely have been reopened on Saturday. We had additional rain on Friday afternoon and evening. The good news is it was only a quarter of an inch. The bad news it was delivered with overcast skies for several hours which delays trail drying. More rain is predicted for Sunday. Stay tuned for updates!

(Dec 15/5:30pm) FATS Update!
Reminder FATS is still under official closure by the USFS.
An additional system rolled through on Sunday, only dropped a quarter of an inch but it was over several hours and we had overcast skies. That slowed the drying out of the trails from previous rain.
This latest system dropped about an inch of rain in the area around FATS. It will be 48 to 72 hours before things dry out, we will post updates!
Please do not access the FATS until it is officially back open. We would appreciate you sharing this information.

(Dec 19/10:45am) FATS Update!
FATS is still under official US Forest Service closure.
A trail check late yesterday revealed that seeps were no longer running down the trail but those areas were still wet and there are the usual wet spots as well. Trail tread otherwise looking good and drying out. More rain predicted for tomorrow.
Stay tuned for updates, we are in touch with the USFS regularly.
We appreciate all the trail users who continue to help protect this resource and respect the closure. There is over 100 miles of other awesome singletrack in the area. Take this time to go find a favorite……maybe even grab that selfie at Wine Creek before December 31st or Turkey Creek before January 31st!

(Dec 26/11:30am) FATS Update!
FATS is still under official USFS closure! According to area gauges approximately an inch of rain impacted the area just before freezing temperatures arrived.
We continue to work with the USFS and did a trail check yesterday afternoon.
We’ve had sun and wind for the last couple of days which dried up any direct rain water on the surface. However, with the rain and the time of year, cold temps and minimal foliage water requirements the aquifers are slower to drop. As a result there are still active seeps, ground water oozing out and running down the trail. In this case the water had frozen. There are signs of the aquifers dropping, some areas that are still damp but no active seeps.
We will keep you updated. We are as anxious as the USFS to get the trails back opened as soon as possible. In the meantime, please utilize one of our other awesome trails in the area. There are over 100 miles of other singletrack to pick from!!
