(July 14/7:30am) FATS Update!
More rain that ended just before midnight. Looks like about another 1/2 inch but delays the start of the drying cycle with more forecasted.
There is an advantage of having lighter rain over several hours. It typically soaks in rather than eroding the trail like when we get heavy rain over short periods of time.
We will keep you posted. Once this rain cycle stops, the trails will need time to dry out.

FATS Update!
FATS is under official closure by the US Forest Service due to potential impact by Hurricane Ian. Stay tuned for updates!
Please avoid all forest areas during the high winds. After these weather events we generally end up cutting quite a few trees off the trails.

(Oct 13/12:45am) FATS Update!
Cold front rolled through dropping a substantial amount of rain in our area. According to the gauges we use FATS received about an inch of rain. However, areas to the north received 2 1/2 inches of rain and some areas to the south received over 5 inches of rain.
Please allow 24 hours for the trails to dry out.
It has been very dry so the rain should absorb quickly. However, due to the uneven distribution of rain in our area once trail users are back on the trail please advise if you find otherwise.
Thank you!

Update Skinny Trail!
(Oct 18/12:00) The soft opening for the Skinny Trail is now! Go enjoy the refreshed trail and sign up for Flow Master 6 to be the first ones to experience the new flow!
Heads up the trail builder is still out there doing some finishing touches so please be aware!
The goal of the USFS for the Skinny Trail was to take it back to close to the way it was after it was first built. That trail is the one that gets the most use since it is used as a connector to Brown Wave and due to length and terrain the prime choice for novice mountain bikers.
For those who will miss the more technical tread we have well over 100 miles of trails with plenty for you to enjoy!
There was a lot of buildup and debris due to nearly 6 months of closure. As a result, volunteers were out tidying up the trail getting ready for the opening. This took over 25 volunteer hours and is not part of our normal trail maintenance.
We will be celebrating the Grand Opening of the Skinny Trail at our End-of-Season party on Sunday, October 30th. Great time to come out and ride and pick up one of the great FATS stickers!
If you are joining us for lunch let us know how many by emailing sorba.csra@gmail.com you don’t want to miss this BBQ after your ride!!

Nicole moved out, some late misting and drizzle continued. Just over 1/2 inch of rain in the area of FATS but trails will need about 24 hours (from now) to dry out. Cooler temps, active growing season at the end and overcast skies impact the drying. Thank you!

(Nov 19/12pm) FATS Update!
Trails are in good shape, looks like good weather with some small chances for showers ahead. Great time for fall riding, don’t forget your hunter orange hunting season is still open except on Sunday’s on the FATS.
We have entered the cycle of colder weather and less absorption of water by area foliage. We will keep you up to date on trail conditions so we can work together to keep these trails in good condition!
