Had a good time and felt good about helping out on a trail system that I enjoy riding on. Just wish I would have had more time than I did. It was also nice to meet some new people. Hope to see you guys on the trail soon.

I just remembered the wife and I will be coming back from Charleston that day so how long does it normally go on?

I have been riding since '92 and there are times that after every climb I stop and have to catch my breathe. Nothing wrong with it, let a lone nothing to be ashamed with if you need stop and push. We have all done it and no matter how experienced you are, if you ride a lot you will do it again. Thanks for the encouragement I really do appreciate it.

If you volunteer what does it entail as far as helping? Do you walk the trails with a machete hacking bushes or walk the trails with a weed-whacker? I have never done it before but I really enjoy using the trails and have been thinking about helping out but I just don't know what is expected. Any info you could give I would greatly appreciate it.

I just don't think I am ready yet for those trails. When I can ride Great Wall and not stop then I will advance to those others. It's the climbs that are killers. I will get there though.

I definitly like skinny and Great Wall better in the ccw direction. I don't see how Great Wall could feel more steep coming out in the ccw direction. It feels like I am climbing Everest when I come out in the cw direction. It's still a lot of fun I just am still trying to build up my stamina. I have not attempted tower, deep step and the other one which I can not remember its name right now. I figured I am not ready to die yet. I got into biking to lose weight and I have actually feel in love with riding and I am hooked now. I bought a used FS bike for a good price just to try and see if I would like doing this and now I can not wait to get me a brand new bike with all the bells and whistles. I really enjoy it and fats is a great place to ride. Just hope that one day I can keep up with the rest of you guys.

I understand they fall just wanted to make sure people knew the trees were down on the trail. Here lately I have been riding skinny and brown wave because of the trees on great wall. What direction do most of you guys ride Great Wall? I have been riding it clockwise but the last mile or so is pretty brutal uphill. Is it any better in the counterclockwise direction or does it not matter? Only reason I ask is because brown wave to me is a way different monster when you ride clockwise as compared to counterclockwise.

I just assumed they were not suppose to be there because within a three day period after a rain they showed up but maybe I am mistaken. One of them is up off the ground a good bit because you have to push your bike underneath it. Hopefully someone that knows the trail better than I will ride and comment on it.

If you ride the trail in the clockwise direction there is one at the beginning of the trail. The others are scattered throughout the trail some you have to pick the bike up over and a some you have to push the bike under. I wish I had paid attention to the mile markers but I am a few months new to mountain biking and I am still concentrating on staying upright and continuing to breath. I normally ride great wall in the clockwise direction but most people I pass are going in the counter clockwise direction so I think I will try it that way when I get back from vacation. I just really enjoy great wall and the trees slow your momentum down and take away some of the fun. I was wondering if you had to be a certain someone to cut the trees so you did answer that question for me. Hope it gets cleared soon.

Last week when I rode Great Wall it had trees down in 4 or 5 spots. Does anyone know if the trees have been cleared out of the way or not.
