I will park in one of two places that seem fairly safe. Oe more than the other though. I will either park at the Savannah Rapids Pavillion at the headgates or will drive to the ball fields that you see from Calhoun Expressway. You can get to there from Washington road by taking the road directly across from the Members Gate of Augusta National. Then you just rode under Calhoun and cross the steel walkway by the pumping station. But that may be the parking lot you were talking about, as I have seen some glass there too.

So I decided a few days ago to take the camera gear on a walk at FATS. Was hoping to find a bunch of riders and get some action shots of riders on the trails. Well not to many folks out riding. I think I saw MCG go by on the trailhead heading towards skinny or brown. Anyways those shots came out not so well. I did get a so so shot that I have posted here. Hope the rider does not mind the shot being posted. If so just let me know and I will take down the post. Just wanted to share a shot of riding action. Tom

OK...I have no guess on this latest pic but I have to comment that on the first two features you took pics of I found myself going by both of them saying to myself dang there it is LOL. Had to try not to wrench my head all the way around to take a second look. Guess I just could have stopped but the grin on my face was suffice enough LOL. Thanks for starting this thread. It great fun and makes me want to ride all the area trails more. Thanks for the motivation.

Saw one on Monday while driving to FATS on 28. It was in the road just hanging out in the middle of the road. I was in the opposite lane and the car coming the other way was flashing its lights and honking and the dang thing was just standing there. I about drove off the road trying to get a look. I thought I was seeing things. Told some friends I saw this thing, and they thought I was just crazy LOL. Now I know what to call my vision

There is a big tree down across the trail. Its located on the backside going CW where you start heading back towards the trail heads. Sorry thats not a great description but I did not look at my computer to see what mile location it was at. Its maybe only rideable by some of you monsters out there. I am no where even gonna try that and I would guess the majority of folks riding the canal would not either. I had to walk around it through the woods. Just wanted to let everyone know

I will second that. Just a little thick coming through what I think is the old runway. Pardon if that is not the spot but today was the first time riding the trail. Did not ride past the lake springs road so I can not comment on that part of the trail.
