There's about 3 or 4 places with trees down on the canal loop right now. I'll get out there later this week (if it ever quits raining) and clear what I can w/my little folding hand saw, but there's some stuff that will need a chainsaw. I can at least clear out the small stuff so the chainsawers can get in easily.

Those 3 or 4 were still there Sunday along 2 or 3 more ? Also the big 3 foot in diameter leener has slowly gotten where you hit your head going under . I would hate to be under it when it falls to the ground . I have a small chain saw , would the guys in the water dept hear the noise and come running ? I can not do anything with the 3 footer but can do some good with the ones by the river ?

If I remember correctly, you have to be certified to use a chainsaw back there.
Any chance we could get a work party going? A few chainsaws and hedge trimmers would do it.

How strick is the chain saw certified police ? I got a chain saw I could carry in a napsak and hit a tree everytime I get down there , about one a week ? I work Monday thru Saturday and doubt I could take a class on Sunday ? Not this coming Saturday but next I could join in the work when I get off at 4:00 ish ? Or weekdays after 6:00 . still plenty of daylight . Let me know

Unless there has been a change, it is the US Forest Service that requires only chainsaw certified sawyers cut downed trees on their land (FATS, Turkey, Wine, Modoc, Horn Creek, Long Cane). Always best to have knowledgeable, experienced chainsawyers even if the land manager doesn't require certification!
