Maybe this was truly an accident, maybe it wasn't. It amazes me how many people simply do not want to share the road with cyclists. I eat lunch daily with a bunch of of middle aged men, nearly all of whom are avid outdoorsmen, all from the Edgefield area. They have a hard enough time having to share the woods with us. They really have zero desire to share the roads. That said, there is one cyclist that rides a recumbent on Hwy 230. Boy have I heard stories of near hits with that cyclist, as they claim he rides at least three feet off the white line...

I know this guy. Don A. Irony is he is on the rucument because of am injury sustained when he got hit by a car on his regular roadbike. Or at least I think that is the story. He used to be a regular at the old Tower. But I think he can't ride MTB anymore because of the injuries from the accident w/ the car years ago. I see Don 2-4 times a week riding in this area.

Just another reason NOT to ride a rode bike. 3,000lbs. vs 200lbs. Which one do you think has the upper hand? To me it's a no brainer. We are geographically challenged in this part of the country. In other parts of the country, people don't mind sharing the road. But in the south.....well you know.
