On a particularly hot Baker's Dozen or two ago a friend handed me a cool, wet towel that really made all the difference in the world at the time. Since then once the weather veers into the 80's I pack a gallon jug with water, an ice pack inside and a container of small hand towels to take on every ride. I always bring enough for our friends and we all enjoy the towels at the end of the ride. They are great for getting the dirt and dust off but are best for reviving your spirit after a hot, humid summer ride!!

I know what you mean. I was riding FATS last weekend and decided to take a break on the tree stump next to the Brown Wave trailhead. I took out my water bottle and doused my head. Can't believe how good it felt!

I hear that sticking ones head under the water pump at the trailhead feels real good after riding FATS.
I've had one of Angela's towels. Good idea.
But I'd trade it for a cold beer and just stick my head under the pump ;D

Paula used to laugh at me when I'd dump a jug of water over my head after a ride. Though she still won't poor a whole jug over her head...she has discovered that a little cold water over the head do feel GOOD!

The thought of that ice cold beer sure has me thinking.........I'm thinking it would feel mighty good as a fantastic soak for my hot feet after a long ride on a summer day
