So last night I am looking at how to make up a 100 mile route with a ton of singletrack and no loops being ridden more than once. I admit that alot of this takes a certain understanding of routes already discovered. And without knowing some of these routes, it may as well be in California...... Here's the route: A lap on the Horn Creek Trail. Out to Hwy 230. Over to Wine Creek Trailhead on the Dark Star route. Take the "Connector" all the way to Modoc. So at this point, you have ridden Horn Creek, Wine, Turkey and Modoc and covered about 48 miles. From here it is a 12-13 paved ride to "Lost Wilderness". Up Duck Pond Road. If we ever build loops 5 & 6 at FATS, you will get on those. Then ride the four loops we have built. And that is 100 miles. 58 miles are singletrack. 18 miles are gravel and 24 miles are paved. Piece of cake....huh The first test run will be in June. Without loops 5 and 6 at FATS, of course. Let me know if you would like to be in on the test run.

My good man...are you crazy? 100 miles. I don't like driving 100 miles much less riding it.

June? Let's do it this month! June is tapped out for me right now. This sounds like a good one to do this month before the heat turns up. Definitely a good training ride for the Shenandoah 100! Bring it on!

My good man...are you crazy? 100 miles. I don't like driving 100 miles much less riding it. It's all relative. There are many that would say the same thing about riding one lap at Lick Fork.....good God man, are you crazy? The hardest part of this ride will be rolling up to FATS, with 65+ miles under your belt and not just riding to house (I live <3 miles from the trailhead). This hundo would crush me right now. But every once in a while a good crushing is good for ya. Besides, it has to be easier than the Shenandoah Mtn 100. Troy - I knew you'd be the first to want to ride it. I bet we can scare up some Greenwood boys and have a small group of 5-8. And....here's a crude map of the course.

If 5&6 aren't built at the time, you can always head over to the Bartram and ride it before going on over to Lost wildernessto get the mileage in. Of course that would go against the "Not riding the same trail twice" rule.

What the heck! I believe I can get the sphincter in shaper by then. Count me in. Besides, my "man card" needs to be punched.

June is tough for me as well, but if I can swing the schedule you know I'll be there.

Nam & I could be in depending on the date and fitness at the time. Is there why to connect back to Horn Creek to collect the cars?

Eddie O Eddie, We'd probably do this instead.....while putting out various food drops, we'd get dropped off at the start (Horn Creek). Then just ride to my house as the finish line, where we can collaspe, get in the hot tub or do whatever one does after spending all day in the saddle. I live 2.5 miles from the FATS trailhead.

What the hell, you guys will probably all want to start earlier than I can get over there from Columbia anyhow, so I'll just meet you at the end and make sure the beer is cold and the hot tub is hot. No really, no bother at all.

Any way of doing this the last weekend of May? I'll be out of the area June 7th- prolly June 23rdish for RAAM. I'd love to get a really long ride in to tune up any loose ends before the big race. Can't wait to get back here and get in the dirt the rest of the year! Bill, let me know, I can help get stuff together next week. My last day of work is next Wednesday! Any way of doing this the last weekend of May? I've got a half-baked plan to do this on Sunday June 4, but I can't start until about 11am and will likely finish after dark. Company would be nice.
