edgefielddaily.com/merriwether041907.htmlThis happened on Woodlawn Rd. About a mile from the trailhead at FATS. One would have to be pretty darn unlucky to have this happen while riding. But I guess it could happen.

But I guess it could happen. I bring my crew out of the woods on windy days. I've seen too many limbs fall that would put a major hurt on someone if they got hit. I stay off the trails on windy days as well.

Read this one yesterday. Sad.
How many times have you ridden a trail and seen a huge (okay, maybe 4 - 6") tree limb stabbed into the ground right beside the trail? Then you look up and see how tall the tree is and how far the limb fell. Then you pedal off, going, PHEW! that one would've hurt!
A couple of years back the SO and I were riding Pisgah on a windy day. Heard a loud crack and crash maybe 100' behind us, then on the return trip had to climb over a large tree. That one experience alone keeps us from riding on very windy days.
I will however, take my chances with limbs/trees vs. automobiles...
