Looking for Members of the Brown Wave "The Dip" Crash club.
You who have crashed there no what I'm talking about, for others its when you go ccw on the brown wave and near the river you'll see a Dip warning sign.
The first few are fun and you start gaining speed and then all of a sudden you see it, and know you're in trouble.
I joined the club today.

I wrecked in the same spot 4 weeks ago and separated my collar bone from the acromion process of my shoulder. Rode yesterday for the first time since the injury. I did the Skinny to the Brown wave CCW right over same spot, then skinny CW home. I'm fired up to be back on these trails. Too bad for the rain today.......

Ok, I modded the title to The Fats Crash Club, I know most of you have stories. Don't be ashamed, its a badge of Honor!
Check out the Great Video posted today, they captured a crash on tape.

FATS can hurt you.
FATS can be ridden by 7 year olds.
Both are true as I've witnessed both.
It's part of the beauty of it all.

Come on now, if you busted it maybe you were riding more like a 7 year old boy - look at all the folks knocking their teeth out on the pavement or busting tender body parts on railings trying to skateboard down the railings on Real TV .........almost without fail>>>> boys.... trying to push the limits a bit. The 7 year old girl would have been content to ride along at a nice little clip looking at the beautiful forest, checking out the flowers, etc

That 7 year old girl wouldn't be you, would it? MW has a very good story of a certain female flying through the air at mach 1 and landing in a creek full of water at Wine...

Update on the guy that crashed Sunday: Broken: collarbone shoulder/scapula in 3 places 3 ribs Punctured lung from the ribs. Blood leaking into his lungs. He didn't to go to the hospital Sunday and finally went on Monday. Nurse said had he not gone, he would be dead.
Some advice: If you crash hard enough to hurt, go to the hospital. Maybe we should change the name of this from "FATS Crash Club" to "Riding Over Your head Club"

Not a local. He's from Tenn and has been here in Augusta working. He's been camping in the parking lot at the shop in his RV trailer. We've been calling him "Cousin Eddie". He was supposed to return home today, but will obviously not be going home for a while. I'll keep everyone posted on his condition.

Wow. After I picked up my "professionally tensioned" wheel last week, the SO and I spent probably 10 minutes talking to him (we had parked our truck right by his small JayFlight). He wanted to hook up on FATS but we told him our plans involved hitting other trails over the weekend. Seemed like a nice enough guy. Wasn't he riding a Giant VT?

Yeah but at 7 no way would I have ridden through that creek crossing with the water deep enough to conceal that big rock. That was a very cold, wet landing and I sure was happy that it was a face plant into deep water on Wine or it would have been a face smash into the rocks. It is amazing what adding over 40 years to that 7 year old girl can do!!

Cousin Eddy should be getting his chest tube out today and possibly released by tomorrow. I thought he should stay in the hospital longer, but he doesn't have ANY insurance and his bill is probably going to be around $50k or more.

Word is that "Cousin Eddie" is the same guy that told "Oddcouple" that he rode FATS during the 2 week hunting closure because he had driven so far to ride it.
Can you say bad karma?
