56 people have done 573 volunteer hours. Awesome.
Paul Farrow has hit the 50 hour mark. Ray Shively over 40. Brian Bigsby & Russell Hale are over 30. Barbara and Michael Drawdy nearing 30 hours. Trish Shivley is also nearing 30 hours. Marco White, Daniel Allen, Martin Meinshausen at 20 or more. And a 60 year old fella that comes all the way from Saluda has worked 11 hours. Thank you to all the above and everyone that has donated their valuable time to this project.
We'll crank it back up in December.
It's a great ride. I can't wait until it opens to the public.

Just curios?? Why the hold til December? Right now there is nothing for the volunteers to do. There is work to do, but it is backslope above your waist. It needs machines to work it right. It could be done by hand, but there is no sense in that. The crew has other obligations and other trails to build. Secondary reason is we had a freak accident with the second ditchwitch involving a pine root and it's oil filter. It needs a new engine. OUCH! If this machine gets fixed, Todd should be back out there 11/15 with our newest crew member. Those two will work that week and should finish the first loop. They have about a 1/3 mile of waist high backslope to cut, armor a few areas, build a rock garden or two and take some of the dips out of the Brown Wave. Lastly, our volunteers need some time off. They've been at it hard. I can't give them enough credit. They've been amazing. Also, I am going to KY from 11/19-11/27 for T-giving. Ideally the sweco goes back in the ground 11/21 on the next loop for three days before T-giving. Then on 11/28 we have a three man crew in place with the sweco and both ditchwitches running. I've got my fingers crossed. I hope the volunteers have seen the last of the bottom loop (as far as working on it goes.) We'll schedule something the first weekend of Dec.
