Just a reminder that hunting (deer/rifle) season begins on Monday, October 12th in South Carolina and Sunday, October 18th in Georgia (here in the CSRA).
Please wear hunter orange for safety. Avoid riding near dawn and dusk when light conditions and visibility are low. There is no hunting on public lands in South Carolina (unless otherwise posted) on Sundays.
FATS was and still is a popular hunting area in South Carolina so stay alert. The deer hunters (rifle) have been out of the woods for 9 months and eager to enjoy the start of their season. The season doesn't start in Georgia until October 18th so trails like Bartram and Keg Creek might be another option to consider for this first week of open season.
No hunting (unless posted) in Mistletoe State Park or Hickory Knob State.
Let's have another safe season!
