When: Sunday August 4th, 2013 at 9am Where: Keg Creek Trail (meet at the parking lot located on south side of Washington Road (on your left if traveling from Pollard's Corner), ~1.0 mile west of the Wildwood Park entrance). What: For August's EtTR, this 9.2 mile loop has a very diverse terrain with some cool challenges built in (they are easy to walk if you decide not to ride). It is definitely a favorite of our riders who are looking for a great ride with some real trail features. Great work party with two groups on Keg Creek today clearing all the downed trees. Don't have a report from one team but the other team cleared 16 non-riders off their half of the trail! That was a lot of work to get this trail ready for this ride, come on out and check out their handiwork. This is an intermediate/advanced level trail for our area but as long as you are a reasonably fit rider don’t miss the opportunity to check this trail out. There will be ride leaders and sweepers so no one left behind. You do not have to be a member of SORBAcsra to join us so bring your family and friends. In the event the weather or trail conditions are not acceptable, the ride will be cancelled so watch for postings here! Questions?? email us at SORBAcsra or post here Map of trail and directions!Description of trail

In! I'd love to do the Christmas Party Ride if anyone else is up for it. Keg Creek + Mistletoe. Best ride in town IMO. 25 miles, you can top off your water at the park office in Mistletoe. About a 3hr ride. Anyone interested? I don't mind taking our time and showing some new folks the route who have never ridden it before. Be prepared to get wet, the creeks are full.

Sixteen folks showed up for the Keg Creek Explore the Trail Ride today. We had a lot of firsts today; several folks rode the drop into Keg Creek today for the first time, and on the first try. Several folks rode across the flat rock creek crossing for the first time today. We also had a lot of carnage on the trail today. A ripped off rear derailleur/mangled chain meant a trailside conversion to single speed. Two nice endos into the first sandy creek crossing, with one resulting in a bath and a little face rash from the river rocks. We had a few more endos over logs and rumor has it an endo-handstand, with bike still attached. Then there was the blood. Lots of bloody knees, with one requiring a post-ride visit to prompt care. Despite today's adventure with mechanical issues, blood, and gore, I think everyone had a great time and learned a lot to improve their riding game. Thank you for coming out today. ***Warning, some of these pictures contain real life situations with blood and gore*** An album of photos is available here on the SORBAcsra facebook page (no log in required). goo.gl/9HrDgl

Up until splitting my knee wide open I had a great time! Keg is a really fun trail, and it was great seeing a good size group coming out to try it. And very cool watching folks try some of the harder features.
So, where we going next?

Despite the mechanicals and bodily injuries, there was an interest in having a make up EtTR ride at Modoc. We will have to coordinate this day with the FaRTs, work parties (including one to make sure Modoc is clear to the end), and all the other things else people have going on now.
