 It's on like donkey kong! WHAT: 4th Annual Moonlight Time Trial WHEN: February 8th 13th March 8thWHERE: Augusta Canal Singletrack - meet at the main trailhead at the base of the stairs WHAT TIME: Registration starts at 6:30pm, first racer off the line at 7:00pm HOW MUCH: $2 or FREE WHY: Fun in the dark It's that time of year again - MLTT time! One date this year, but we’ll do two laps, one each direction. We will NOT use Razor’s Edge – everyone will race the Beginner/Sport Canal Crown course, including the stairs. Times will be added together to determine the winners. Folks who volunteer at the work party on Jan 13th get to race for free. All race proceeds will be awarded as prizes to the top rider(s). We’ll provide the bonfire and marshmallows, you bring your own beverage. Costumes:If you wear a costume you get a time bonus! More creative/elaborate costumes earn more of a time bonus. You gotta commit though and put some real effort into it, if we feel your costume doesn’t cut it, you get no time bonus, and end up looking goofy for no reason. Lights are required this year. Don't have a light? AJBW has a few demo sets, get in touch with them to reserve one. Rain plan: if there's lots of rain before the race it will be postponed to another date. The announcement will be made on this thread at the very top. This is a laid back race, catering to everyone and anyone that rides a knobby tired bike, not just hardcore racers. It's really just an excuse to ride and hang out. It’s family friendly, so feel free to bring the kids and the dog. Come check it out, it’s a ton of fun. Guaranteed! Any questions? Woo-hoo, it's almost MLTT time!
The race is THIS Friday night, hope to see lots of folks out there, and can't wait to see what sort of costumes we get!
I'll be rolling out of AJBW to the trail sometime between 4:30-5:00 to go mark the course and get the fire going. I wouldn't mind a hand if anyone else is free.

Rode yesterday afternoon. One non-rider is down going CW between the re-joining of razor's edge and the boardwalk. It's not a mess, only the trunk across the trail, but will need a chainsaw to clear.

Depending on how much rain we get today the race may be postponed to Weds. Feb 13th a future date. We'll make the decision today sometime, and it will be announced here and on Facebook.
Big thanks to JP3 for cleaning that log out last night!

Well, it's been raining buckets for a while, and is forecasted to continue doing so all day and into the night. No race tomorrow.
New race date: Weds. Feb 13th
All other details (time, entry fee, formatt, etc) are unchanged.

The Moonlight TT has been postponed, again. Lots of folks traveling in the coming weeks, so new date TBD in the somewhat near future. Might be next month...might be before then...we'll see. We'll keep you up to date.

Well, the 2013 Moonlight Time Trial finally happened. Apparently postponing a race multiple times does not do good things for attendance. Lots of folks came to hang out, but only five brought bikes to race on. The spectator to racer ratio was more than 2:1. There were crashes, roasted marshmallows, friendly puppies, kids playing and having fun, ripped off derailleurs, fast times, a kilt, aliens in the woods, and inebriated cowbell ringers in the trees. Good times were had. Results: Yes, there was a race, and times were recorded, and winners determined. But it doesn't really matter. Aaron won, but Ben happened to be in the randomly choosen finish place that got the money, all $7.77. Make it rain. There was another $0.20 but it was either dropped or eaten by the puppies.
