Hey guys this weekend looks great! Does anyone want to ride Mistletoe on Saturday or Sunday?
I was thinking late morning or early afternoon. We could meet at the main gate and head out on the White Trail to Rack Damn (Blue). One loop is about 8 miles, right? We could head out at our own pace, but keep an eye for each other.
Cheers!

Hey , not sure of the riding plans for this weekend yet, the "Christmas party" ride from Keg creek to mistletoe and back is a really fun route. I might be up for that ride on Sunday. When I figure out what I doing I'll let ya know.

Hope you enjoy the ride this weekend.
We are camping at Petersburg this weekend and plan on riding "New" Bartram, WW, Keg, Mistletoe, then back the way of WW, "New" Bartram and back to the campsite. Maybe we'll run into you.
If you see a white Specialized 29er and a Yeti 575, that's us. Guaranteed we'll smile and wave.

I'd be more likely for Sunday. I'd do either ride. I've been wanting to go to Mtoe and explore stuff not ridden, and ride multiple laps of the main loop.
I plan to work more on the flagging of the trail in McCormick on Saturday.

Michael that's a big ride. Just add on the P'burg to west dam(including lake springs) and back you'll be first to knock out the "Thurmond Epic"
Hmm Specialized 29'er new Bike??

Hmm Specialized 29'er new Bike?? Nope, he's had it a while. Those big wheels don't look so big under MD tho. Of course you didn't know I was riding a 29er till I said something about it last weekend...even tho we've ridden together a whole bunch of time. Obviously you don't pay too much attention to what other folks are riding ;D Not a bad thing of course.

Well I was able to take in FULLY RIGID, STEEL, and SINGLE SPEED, after that the brain locked up and I had to reboot.

Keg Creek sounds fun. I've been wanting to do that one. The 7 am start time may be a little too early for me though. I hope I see you there.

can always rendezvous at Mistletoe we should be at the ranger office by 8:30 or 9 I think, Dustin will have a better idea of the timing. You could ride Mistletoe with us and if ya felt like it come with us back to keg, and either ride back to Mistletoe or I could drive ya back.

Since we're doing the ride differently than before I'm not too sure of my time estimates. Here's my guesses: I'm guessing we'll be riding by the 'back door' parking area on Ridge Rd around 7:30ish. Should be at the park office around 8 or 8:15ish maybe?? And we're doing two loops inside Mistletoe! One each direction.

Michael that's a big ride. Just add on the P'burg to west dam(including lake springs) and back you'll be first to knock out the "Thurmond Epic" I don't think this would count since we are not doing Keg on the way back. Adding just Old Bartram wouldn't be too hard, but I don't think I have Keg x 2 in me. MD

Thurmond Epic is only 1 loop of Keg. On your way to MT you ride 8 miles of Keg in the CW direction, then on the way back to West Dam you ride the last mile of Keg CW.

Yeah that is going to be too early for me. I may see you guys out at mistletoe but even that may be too early, hahaha.
If anyone else wants to ride later, say 1 pm, on Saturday hit me up. Otherwise I will just see ya out there.

Great ride Saturday morning, a little cold at the start but it warmed up nice after a bit. PLENTY of water at mistletoe. The first creek crossing if going ccw from ranger station had about knee high water, at the other crossings, the exposed chunks of stone had water running over them but were not slippery, just good fun. Came across two groups of campers out there, at the rock dam a man ran up to the stream with his finger over his lips, asking us to be quite, his fellow campers were still sleeping. We did our best to roll silently by. On the second lap they were all up and greeted us with a hardy good morning . Some one had ridden the loop before us fresh tracks in the mud?? Ran in to D squared on the way back out of Mistletoe. Congratulations your Huskies are Big East tournament Champs. That ought to get ya a nice seeding at the big dance. Happy trails all.
