The Explore the Trails Ride scheduled for Sunday, November 7th at Modoc/Stevens Creek has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for another time.............in its place will be the following event that will combine the Explore the Trails Ride scheduled for November 7th and the night ride we were working on for November 13th.
SORBA Bikefest
Saturday, November 6th
Location: Bartram Lake Trail
12:30pm - afternoon ride beginning at Petersburg Campground Trailhead parking lot (don't forget you are required to wear hunter orange - inexpensive vests are available at WalMart)
3:30pm - meet at campsite #2 (this campsite is easily accessible from the trail and will be marked) for a bike maintenance clinic and cookout (hotdogs, drinks, etc) that will begin between 4:30 and 5:00.
6:00pm - meet at Petersburg Campground Trailhead parking lot for a night ride on the trail (we plan to have some extra lights available if people would like to try some night riding)
8:00pm - back to campsite #2 for a campfire (marshmallows, s'mores, drinks, whatever)
Here is the contact information for those of you who wish to camp (706) 541-9464 or www.reserveuse.com
We do need a count if you'd like to participate........feel free to join in on whichever activity appeals to you - if you plan to join us for the events involving food or snacks we need to know that you will join us so we will have a headcount and can plan for it. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
We have limited extra lights available and suggest people come and try them on a one or two mile section of trail so that everyone who would like to try night riding has the chance........it is on a first come, first served basis so you need to let us know in advance if you would like to borrow a light.
