I know about several low key, unofficial "stage races" in areas around the country. The idea is to have several events in a series and call each one a stage. This could be done over a series of days or weekends. I could see the stages ranging from time trails to century length. Road and mtn stages. Mainly for fun. Is anyone interested in participating in such an event? If so, could it be done on a Thursday, Friday, Sat and Sun - for a 4 stage event? Would it be better to make them on the weekends only? Stage ideas: 1. Wine and Turkey Creek Time Trail. Do this one at nite? 2. Long road stage, maybe around the lake. 3. Tour de Edgefield Stage. Lap of Horn Creek, with a detour all the way into Edgefield. Could be done on MTB or Cross bike. Will ride on singletrack, gravel and pavement. 4. A long MTB loop. Over 30 miles. Any takers? Any ideas for stages?

Four days in a row is tough with work. And unless its consecutive days it won't feel like one event.
I still like the idea of epic rides like over the winter. Get some support and there'd be more takers I think.

Saturday/Sunday over 2 weekends would work out best. It should be long rides if we split it into two weekends. How about Long Cane Massacre one weekend, then road race around lake the next with a time trial at the tower!

How 'bout this: 8 stages.
Friday TT. Canal trail Saturday. BV's house (near Tower) to Petersburg Campground. Sunday: P-burg to Wine Creek on 283.
Friday TT: Horn Creek Trail. Saturday: Wine Creek to Baker Creek SP. Sunday: Baker Creek to Hickory Knob SP.
Saturday: HKSP to Parsons Mtn MX Trail. Sunday: Parsons Mtn MX Trail to 505/506 This would cover every trail we have (except Keg Creek & Wildwood) from the Augusta Canal to the Long Cane Horse Trail near Greenwood.
Low key for sure.

Depending on when this was held - bet we could drum up a little food/drink support and cheerleaders to support the events.

I sure wouldn't want to ride all of the stages - but would be willing to help if I'm around
