Anyone else going over to Dauset Trails for this race? I'm signed up for the 6 hour and I believe dgaddis is also.
Dauset trails is great trail system near Jackson, GA about 2 hrs from Augusta. The race is on Sept 18th. Info is at goneriding.com
I signed up last year, but it got rained out and I couldn't make the rain date. Looking forward to warming up for the SMC.

Yep, I'm in for the 6hr solo. Nitro may go as well.
If anyone else is interested and would like to car pool let me know. It'll be a day trip for me.
Never ridden Dauset, but hear good things. Should be fun!

Forgot to mention. I'm headed down Friday night and coming back Saturday after the race.
My parents live about 10 min from the trails, so if someone wants to ride down Friday night and have free room and board let me know.

I haven't been riding much the last 3 weeks, but I should be in for the 6 hour also. Dauset is an awesome trail.

Nitro where were you today?
I had a good ride. No cramps or crashes, but I did have a high speed + crazy lean angle two wheel drift that was pretty exciting. Thought I was going to die.
Each lap was just under 10 miles, and I finished 5 in just over 5.5 hours. That's all single and double track. I was happy with that, rode a pretty aggressive pace all day and didn't blow up.
Think I may get a suspension fork from Santa this Christmas, my arms are getting beat up and wore out before my legs are.

Had a great time riding on Saturday with dgaddis and my cousin Mark. Mark had the pit area with tent, coolers. chairs, after ride beer, etc. already setup when we got there Sat morning.
I made 4 laps for about 40 miles. I took too long of a break between laps 3 & 4 to make the cutoff to start lap 5. I averaged about 9.2 miles/hr. Oh well, I was about done anyway. Lots of roots out there.
I'm thinking about changing my name to "On Your Left" because that's what people kept calling me.
This is a great trail system and a good race to put on your calendar for next year.

I'm thinking about changing my name to "On Your Left" because that's what people kept calling me. Now that's funny. The Dauset trail is indeed fun to ride. BTDT, will do again. MD

Results are up.
I finished 24 out of 43 guys, and 26th out of 54 overall. At least one of those put me in the top half!
My lap times were nice and consistent, till I slacked off on my last lap.
58mins 60mins 65mins 65mins 73mins
The winners did 7 laps. Dang.

Reviving an old thread from last year. The 12/6 hrs of Dauset is this weekend. 9/17/11. I'm doing the 6 hour again, hoping for 5 laps. Anyone else going? Good chance to warm up for the Baker's Dozen.

A few of the guys (walter, david, forget who else) on last night's canal ride are going, doing a 4 man team in the 12hr. Gearing up for Bakers Dozen for sure!
I can't make it this year. I highly recommend it though, fun course. Some climbing but nothing crazy, pretty similar to what you find around here. Fast fun trails, some good flow and some high speed rocky sections to keep you honest.
