Modoc is in rough shape. Looks like a big storm blew thru. Several trees/branches down. Trail is completely blocked at about 5.7 by a huge tree fall. Numerous small branches and pine cones down too. Cleaned up what we could.

If one wanted to ride Modoc one way and return by road rather than roundtripping; where do you come out on the racetrack side? Is it obvious at the end of the trail where you gain road access?

ozy- thanks for the update. 5.7 miles is right at the end of the trail. Mark- the FS road that runs near the racetrack goes straight to the 2 mile point, where the "A" marker is. If you take a left turn about a mile in on the FS road, that winds around to a cul-de-sac that is about 0.3 mile above the end of the trail. My goal over the holiday weekend is to cut trees on Keg and then Modoc. I would appreciate some help.

Mark Yarbrough, Luke, and I cleaned Modoc today. Trail is in good shape. I was shocked to see how dry the creeks were. Now is the time to ride for anyone leary of the trail- no water for rocks to hide in. Saw several guys that rode over to Turkey at Key Bridge and then picked up the SMC route. Glad to see the trail getting some use.
