Lick Fork is only a few miles from house and I kind take it for granted. But, on my new single I got from Russel, a 26er monocog, it was a whole new trail. Really fun.
One, with all the logging it was visually different rail. A lot to see and take in, very clear and nice.
Two, my bike handing skills have got to get better. I can't afford to hit the brakes at all.
Three, one gear was right about 85% of the time, my legs were all wrong the other 15% of the time.
Four, the handling with the rigid front fork is awesome. Totally different than my regular bike. But, peddling hard over roots is tough.
Fifth, my arms and butt. Using my arms as shock absorbers was killer and my butt it seems did not stay on the seat much at all.
Sixth, killer work out. One loop and my legs felt like spaghetti.
So, I liked it and plan and keeping with the single speed for a while.
