The trail has been lopped and trees are out but there are lots of pine cones on the tread - probably due to the drought.

One non-rider about 10 min in going clockwise (2 foot dia. tree a few feet off the ground) I cleared some limbs that I felt were not rideable or considered a danger.
No signs of other riders on the trail. Infact one spot where the trail turned I went straight for about 50 ft. Turned out I was just riding a deer run.
A trail that keeps you thinking. -brianW 1-12-08

I rode KC Monday 3/17- it is in good condition, there are 3 trees down, all riders (really). The first stream crossing that used to be easy is now washed out and will require a drop-in. The second stream crossing that has always been tricky is the same as it was.

Rode 4/11 and the trail was in good shape. Did saw two trails that I never noticed before. One by the more northern stream crossing of Keg Creek and the other at the far end of Dickey Branch. Anyone know where they head to?
Also noticed what looked like a dirt bike tire marks on the trail. Hope that it will not be a normal thing.

Thursday night 3 non-rides down . For Brian all riders LOL . All the houses in Keg Pointe have trails down to the water . Saw the dirt bike tires also . Probably left over from hunting season . Hunters lose their bearings rather easly at 3:30 am .

I did ride with Charles . He heads up the huge Church rides ( bikerides4u). Man he can ride ! When he gets really really tired he just slows down a little . He has brought a lot of people to the sport of Mt Biking .He went and bought a bunch of bikes for people to use that do not have one or can not afford one . His garage is cramed full . He has a big Church wide ride at the canal Sunday . I told him it was going to rain , he said good , won't need to bring as much water . He was telling me how you told him how to use your sprocket to get over the big logs .

Oh cool, the few weekends I'm in town I go there. I like it. Where can I get more info on the Sun. rides?
About mid June I'll finally (after a whole year) be staying in town nearly every weekend. I'm pumped.

The Churches bike rides have been sponsered by the Singles Department in the past . They are a good 300 strong . But the Church as a whole has just started to get involved with the bike rides and the first one is this Sunday at the canal . I have met a lot of new friends . Several of the Church members who ride are members of SORBA . Warrenbaptist.org

To BrianW:
Here's the skinny on the "other" trails at Keg Creek - directions are clock-wise from the south parking area. Right after the "one-Mile Tree" (one mile from south trail head) there is a pink-flagged trail to the left. It leads to the WMA service road (this is the woods road extending beyond the locked white gate at the WMA main entrance (almost directly across from Wildwood Park). The service road is close to KC Trail at this point and this access aids trail maintenance and also is a shortcut for emergency evacuation in case of a bad accident. The KC Trail crosses or is contiguous with the service road in two other areas as well. On the north side of the penninsula - just before what we call "Pine Log Landing" there is another pink-flagged access to the left that leads uphill again to the service road for the same reasons. On the north side, KC Trail tees into what used to be an illegal 4-wheeler track. This is part of the Boulder Creek reroute put in last year. Turning right at the tee leads steeply downhill on the yellow-blazed KC Trail. Going left at the tee follows a white blazed extension that dumps out onto a woods road. Following this to the left leads out to a paved road in the new Keg Pointe II subdivision. This woods road is on private land; SORBA is currently working to gain permission to use this connector. Less than 3 miles on paved roads leads to the new "back door" trail in Mistletoe State Park.
I was at Keg Creek today and noticed a set of horse hoof imprints coming in on the white trail and going most of the way out to the north end. Hopefully this will not become a regular occurance.
I have seen very limited motorcycle prints in the past but none were apparent today.
Trail is in great shape except about 4 trees down. Should get them out this month.

Due to the high winds this past weekend 10-11 May there are a lot of limbs and debris on the trail,I cleared some but not nearly all. There are several large tress down across the trail as well, maintenace is much needed. If somebody has the tools, I can provide a few bodies (schedule permitting). I love this trail and would like to give some love back, please contact me flamingotter@flamingotter.com

Rode keg creek for the first time today. I rode it clockwise and loved it. Fast with some technical features and great use of the available elevation. Bridges are in great shape only a couple of trees down. I did encounter many spider webs and other signs that it does not get ridden much which is a shame. If you have not ridden it try it, you will love it.

Just got off the trail half hour ago (14 AUG 08) Loved it. That trail has lots of potential. I rode it counter clock and clock wise. The trail needs riders and there is two trees down cross the trail; one on East side and one middle (on the center peninsula). I have am here visiting for four months and have been enjoying your trail networks here. It's not Golden, Co but it is just as fun and the people I meet are great. Now it is time to check out some more of your trails. Need some ladders, drops, gaps and teeters. Willing to make them as long as I some help as I have no tools here.

Rode Keg Creek last night; the trail is clean. We cleaned up several areas. The trees that are down are riders (I promise). We cut a big dead tree by the parking lot that had been dropped right on the trail; looks like someone was worried that it would fall into the road or parking lot. Lots of leaves down, you'd' think it was October.
