Hey all, I'll be at Baker Creek SP this weekend for a race...wondering with the rain that we've had..and rain that is forecasted. How is the trail? Is it very rooty, etc. like the Horn Creek trail? Any info is appreciated.
Thanks!

Baker Creek is a longer trail .....just under 10 miles.......it is relatively rooty.......there are no really technical parts to the trail, you should find it all rideable. It has a little more climbing than Horn Creek. It is not being ridden as much as it used to be since they began charging an entry fee into Baker Creek State Park so sometimes you have to pay attention to see where the trail goes.
We rode it a couple of days after a rain about a month ago and I found it had drained better than some of our regular trails and did not have any really soggy areas at that time.
Not sure about the tree situation.....many of our trails have trees down right now after these wind storms and I don't have a recent report on that trail.

What race? Adventure race?
Todd Rexrode, Ranger at BCSP, is da man. My money says he'll have that trail in tip top shape for an event. He usually cuts the trees off himself.
If SC had a Todd in every park, we'd be well served.
Please let us know the condition of the trail next week.
