On Saturday I rode Deep Step (ccw), Great Wall, (ccw) and then the Brown Wave (ccw). Looking at the map it seems like you ride almost half of skinny to get to the Brown Wave. Anyone know the milage for doing the three loops minus all of skinny?

Anyone know the milage for doing the three loops minus all of skinny? All of the Skinny is 6 miles. The "short side" is 1.8 miles and this is what alot of folks have in their minds as the "connector" to the Brown Wave. The long side of the Skinny is 4.2 miles. This is the part we opened about 2 months after the 1.8 mile side. Not sure of the total miles. Edit to add: After giving it some more thought, if you rode the Deep Step CCW, the Great Wall CCW, and the Skinny CCW, turning right to go to the Brown Wave, then the Brown Wave CCW.... And then if you rode back up to the Skinny and turned right, then you rode every loop CCW and that is a little more than a 26 mile ride and 25 miles of trail - you ride some of the connector parts both ways. If you did the short side of the Skinny both ways (to/from the BW), then subtract about 2.4 miles.

Thanks Seenvic! Makes me feel like I got some decent mileage in this weekend. The climbs on Deep Step weren't too difficult for me this time. Must be getting some fitness back.

Decent mileage indeed! I believe the Deep Step loop has less(steep) climbing ccw than cw. Just a theory of what I experienced the other day. Haven't actually ridden ccw, it's just what I've heard. Just my two cents-M

Just my two cents-M I bet your right. I've only ridden Deep Step CCW and I know once you cross the road it is a downhiller's delight. But of course what goes down, must come up. Next time I try it CW. Hopefully before the humidity sets in.

A profile of the Deep Step Loop. I think left to right is clockwise on the loop.

I have elevation logs for both parts of the skinny and the brown wave. The junction of the brown wave and the skinny trails are 144 feet below the parking lot. The lowest part of the brown wave is 241 feet below the parking lot.

So if I start at the trail head and straight to the brown wave and ride it then come straight out, how far is that?

So if I start at the trail head and straight to the brown wave and ride it then come straight out, how far is that? We did it yesterday and it was 10 point something miles. Sorry I forgot the exact distance. I could ask my buddy though, he probably remembers.

I rode the Skinny CCW, then at the Brown Wave Jct Turned Right and rode the Brown Wave CCW then coming out of the Brown Wave, stayed right on the Skinny, then at the Great Wall, turned left and rode the Great Wall CW and then back to the Parking Lot. Total miles was around 20 miles.
