What are you doing on June 25th???
Next up is the Modoc Trail! Never ride, run or hike that trail? That’s okay, if you are available come help. You just might be busy when your fav trail gets scheduled!
Contact us at sorba.csra@gmail.com to sign up.
Reach out if you have any questions. We provide on-the-job training so you don’t have to be an experienced volunteer.
And many thanks to all the volunteers who signed up for June 18th’s work party!!!! Having the right number of volunteers to do the job helps us get in and out in a reasonable amount of time and we are going to need it!
You’ve checked your summer schedule and won’t be able to volunteer at all? Please consider becoming a member of SORBAcsra. Your membership dollars helps pay for fuel for all this equipment, repairs and maintenance and drinks & snacks for these volunteers!

We need your help on Saturday, June 25th!!!! We currently only have about half the volunteers we need the work party. The weather looks tolerable for Saturday.
If we have to move this work party on Modoc to Jul 9th all the other trails will have to slide as well and we have a full slate of trails that do or will need a mow/trim/lop very soon...........Horn Creek, Hickory Knob State Park Trails, Brown Wave, Skinny, Great Wall, Deep Step, Big Rock, Bartram east, Bartram west, Augusta Canal Singletrack...... No counting Modoc that's 10 weeks of trail work ahead! See below for details but please come help or at least share so we can round up more volunteers! Thank you!

Modoc Trail Update!
Many thanks to two stellar groups of volunteers who came out armed with DR mowers, string trimmers, hedgers and loppers to take on the foliage at Modoc.
Modoc is not an easy access trail when it comes to work parties but the volunteers were undeterred.
We had a fantastic group of 34 volunteers made up of about an equal amount of trail runners and mountain bikers. We’ll update with hours as soon as they’ve been tallied!
The equipment group, 14 volunteers, went in first hitting it hard with DR mowers, string trimmers and a hedger.
Next up was a group of youth volunteers, members of the Augusta Eagles XC team, with Coach Nathan Maxwell and a couple of supporters. This group was 18 volunteers strong and lopped and cleared a lot of overgrown areas.
Our trail heroes yesterday on the equipment team were Miles St Peter, Mario Supria, Jeff Lippe, Ryan Moncur, Ryan Rudduck, John Atwood, Nancy Schwertfeger, Tony Rosa, David Maryniak, Paul Farrow, Jorge Arroyo, Tony Osborn, Joshua Osborn, and Christian Corabo.
Our trail heroes on the lopping team were Max Voss, Johnny O’Hara, Johnathan Jabaley, Max Molitor, Chandler Lines, Grayson Lines, Olivia Pope, Susannah Heinz, Addison Carlson, Josie Molitor, Avila Almeter, Leah Heinz, Isabelle Russell, Christopher Heinz, Russ Carlson, Franke Russell, Zang Maxwell and Nathan Maxwell.
Organizing/coordinating were Daniel and Angela Allen.
We did have some issues to overcome, one DR mower ended up with a broken cable and the other ended up running out of gas. Fortunately we seldom have those issues but fortunately the volunteers persevered to get the job done. We like to keep our work parties to 3 or 4 hours. The one team team that ran out of gas was out much longer than anticipated.
Many volunteers supplied photos to document this great work party!!
