Are you ready to get the parties started???
Are you ready to rumble??
Let’s do it!
The annual work parties to fight the foliage will begin Saturday, June 18th! Our first target will be the Tower Trail at FATS.
We will be armed with DR mowed, Stihl string trimmers, loppers and hopefully you!!
Tower Trail did not get mowed/lopped in 2021 and it shows.
Please share this information with others and if you can help reach out to us at sorba.csra@gmail.com to sign up. We’ll provide work party details once we have a team put together!

Tower Trail Update!
The first major foliage maintenance work party of the year was a huge success! We had 16 volunteers step up and show up today and they hit the Tower Trail hard.
This is a very tough trail for volunteers to work since access points are so scarce. Some of the volunteers who came had never even been on this trail and had never seen the tower! Some were first time volunteers who quickly jumped feet first into learning the ropes. It was truly impressive!
We got a little break on the weather today and it was slightly less humid. We also fortified with additional volunteers so everyone was finished up before the temps slipped into the 90s!
Four teams armed with DR mowers, string trimmers and loppers got to work.
Kudos and thanks to these impressive teams!!
Red Team> String Trimmers Glenn Ritchie - lead Garrett Simon AJ Scheuermann IV
Yellow Team> DR Mower Jeff McNutt - lead Thomas Gill Debbie Gill
Dark Blue Team> String Trimmers Jimmie Crawford - lead Brian Culpepper Zachary Brown Kent Daniel
Lime Team> DR Mower Greg Miller - lead Tyler Provost Candice Zipf
Organizers, coordinators, equipment wranglers> Banks Mumford Angela Allen Daniel Allen
Next up is Modoc on Saturday, June 25th! We’ll post again shortly but if you already know you can help or have questions, please reach out to sorba.csra@gmail.com

Tower Trail Check!!!
Had the pleasure of riding the Tower Trail this afternoon to take a look at the work done today. Sometimes with all the commotion of a work party lines get crossed and sections of trail can be missed. NOTHING was missed which is a miracle given that some of our volunteers had to trudge through pure forest to get to their section of trail.
Do yourself a favor and go get your ride on at the Tower Trail…..soon!!
Why soon? Trust that its already growing again and with sunlight and a splash of rain that can accelerate quickly.
With the 8 hours of trail work done in advance of the work party with the brush cutter, Thanks Ed and Nancy) total hours on this trail for the week will be in access of 70 volunteer hours!
