FATS will be officially open tomorrow, Saturday, January 14th at 9am. Lower Skinny is still too wet so that section of trail will be taped off until it can dry out. There are some eroded areas due to the rain and there are still some wet areas along the trail please ride in the middle of the trail. Thank you!

FATS is officially open. The majority of the trail is in good condition but there are still soupy/seepy spots - please ride in the middle of the trail.
Lower Skinny is still taped off, please do not ride/run/hike this segment of trail!
Thank you!

Heavy rain on Wednesday and a scout reported the trails were still pretty wet on Friday. More rain blew through over a 3+ hour time period. It's going to take 2 or 3 days for the trails to dry out. Please don't ride wet trails! Thank you.

Rain has been moving through the area for the past 12 hours with more to come, the trails are very wet. Please don't ride the wet trails.
Spring is here and the trees and plants are leafing out which will mean shorter dry times in the coming weeks!

More rain moved through the area from Monday morning through Tuesday morning. The trails need time to dry out - as a benchmark please give the trails at least 48 hours after the rain has stopped before riding the trails.

March 21, looks like rain going through the CSRA today/tonight...
If it's dry through Saturday:
1. Will there be a work day I could sign up for?
2. Is there a possibility of it being rideable?
Cheers, CSRA!

The rain is getting ready to move across our area, once it is through (looks like about 3 hours) we'll have a better idea. If it isn't a complete deluge then I would expect the trails to be dried out in about 48 hours. This time of year as the foliage is leafing out and we have warmer temps things tend to dry up much quicker than during the winter months! Stay tuned!

Cadillac - Trails should be fine to ride, we actually recorded less than an inch of rain. There were high winds during that storm front so there will likely be trees down.
Our large annual work party out at FATS is a little later in the year (to handle the foliage that is encroaching the trail). We post about that and any of our major work parties on the forum.
As a mountain biker on the trails, I generally travel with a pair of hand-held snips and a folding hand saw and periodically stop to clip things like a stray weed with stickers that might encroach the trail or a small tree that has fallen.

There was rain on the 21st into the morning of the 22nd. Only about an inch to inch and a half of rain was reported. Trail check on Saturday revealed the usual mucky spots but they still had more water (from seepage) than expected.
It has been relatively dry over the past month with rain rolling through about once a week so for now please hold to not riding the trails for at least 48 hours after rain.
Thank you!

FATS will be open on Sunday, April 9th. Heads up there are trees and debris down on the trail as well as some wet areas (please stay on the trail even through the mucky spots to avoid trail widening). One of the things we hope to address during the FATS reface is to weatherize some of the areas that stay seepy longer after rain (lower Skinny, Great Wall and Deep Step). Those seepy areas often means the trail remains closed for an additional day or so longer after rain. If you have not taken the time to give to our FATS Reface GoFundMe Campaign please take a minute now and contribute. We currently have just over $2.5K against our initial goal of $10K. Please help us make FATS even greater! Thank you! 2017 FATS Reface GoFundMe Campaign

Rain began yesterday evening and should end about mid-morning. Looks like we have picked up about an inch and a half of rain so far. Trails will be wet and will need 24 to 48 hours after the rain stops to dry out. Please do not ride wet trails!
Thank you.
