Rode Turkey Sunday and it is in fantastic shape after the work party last week. One semi non-rider down about 1 mile from the end. The big dips were still muddy by rideable.
The forest service must be planning a burn as there are new fire breaks that have been cut in over the last week. They cross the trail in a couple of places but you can still ride right through.

Is the trail still rideable or are areas damaged from the burn?

The burn shouldn't affect the trail.

Cool. Just didn't know if fire breaks would be cut across the tread.

The breaks are cut across the trail in a couple spots. Not too bad though.

First mile section is clear. Next 3 miles has 4 or 5 blow downs that'll need achainsaw. The board walk had a very close call. The last third was clear. Prescribed burn was done sometime in the past few days.

Thanks so much for the report, sounds like Turkey didn't get hit too hard with the wind, good news!

As mentioned, a few trees down but trail is in good shape otherwise. Burn didn't affect the trail. 2 trees down at the end of FS617 (middle access, not A or B), and another large pine about a little further north. One smaller pine down at Cedar Springs Rd gate, One tree floating above boardwalk.

Thanks for the updates wala and brando. Yesterday, we parked at Cedar Springs and cut 6 non-riders between there and about 2/3 the way (after the wet whoops). Overall, the tread is in great shape except for the usual culprits. Today we ride!! Here are some pics: Before: After: Before: After: Before: After: Before: (The root ball from another tree that was taken down by this beast took out part of the trail so the cut had to force the trail over a bit.) After: After: (Forgot the before shot but it was about a foot off the boardwalk.) Before: (I think this was brand new because we heard a tree fall on our way to this point.) After:

Except for the couple of muddy dips the trail is in good shape. Thanks to the Lambert's for clearing all the non-riders. With all the wind this week I was surprised to not see any new trees down.

Fair amount of trees down, many non-riders and canopies, and a handful of very muddy dips. Tread was rolling good though.

The first 3 miles are not bad. Once you drop down off the high ground towards the confluence it gets bad quick. The last half of the trail is really not a trail anymore. The vegetation is unreal. I had to stop several times and look for the white tree blazes to know which direction the trail went. There's a lot of trees down. Mostly from about 3 miles in and onward. A couple of really big ones. The dips were dry and all the bridges seemed fine. If anybody wants to do some work out there next Thursday or Friday let me know and I'll come help. I have a 20" chainsaw for the bigger trees (if a Certified Sawyer needs to use it).

Turkey is in great shape along with Wine. The fall colors are in full affect. Really wish these trails got more wheels.
