Anybody else doing this? I'll be racing solo and my kid will be part of a junior duo team. Great course for kids BTW, and it would be great to have more of them out there. There's an official junior solo class and (now) an unofficial junior duo class as well. Last year the promoter even scrounged up swag. www.dirtyspokes.com/mtb-racing/

Great trails at Yargo! I did the Dirty Spokes Duathlon there last month.

It is about 20 minutes from Athens. Great trail. Good for beginners or more advance riders. My wife and I really enjoyed riding it and plan another camping trip there. Many spots that gave advance riders a challenge while providing an alternative route for beginners. The trail is directional which makes it very nice. No worry about head ons. If you do go during a non-race day, they do charge a trail fee per rider. If I recall the main loop is just over 12 miles, there is also an inner lakeside loop which is easier (more double track) and about 7 miles.

This race is a blast, I'm hoping to make it, doing the 6hr solo race. It's close enough to make an easy day trip. Would love to carpool if anyone else plans on going......
EDIT: wouldn't mind doing the 9hr on a team either if anyone was interested....

Dustin, I may be interested in the 9hr team with ya and doing that as a day trip. Stan This race is a blast, I'm hoping to make it, doing the 6hr solo race. I want to do the junior class, but I don't know if I can make it 6 hours in the saddle.

I want to do the junior class, but I don't know if I can make it 6 hours in the saddle. Then don't ride for the entire 6 hours. If you want to stop between laps and hang out, that's cool. Or just stop after you've done enough laps to make you happy. Either way, there's no imperative that you ride continuously for the entire time.

I want to do the junior class, but I don't know if I can make it 6 hours in the saddle. Come give it a go man! Like Wooglin said, ride as much or as little as you want. These events are a lot of fun, everyone is laid back and there to have a good time, no one takes it too seriously. They're good places to push yourself too, and see just how far you can go.

I'll try and talk my dad into taking me! No promises though.
