Happened to go to Harbison State Forest on Sunday; the better half ran a trail race. Anyway, I rode 3 of the loops and thought it was very nice. The Spider Woman loop had some very steep sections that I didn't clean and there was one nice section of switchbacks and rocks that was tricky. There are probably some great views of the river in the winter with the leaves down. The Lost Creek trail is in a very open forest, very good flow to the trail. I had heard there was lots of sand, but I didn't see any problems. The trail is right near the intersection of I-20 and I-26 in Columbia, so is probably closer for the folks in North Augusta than Hickory Knob. Parking is $5, an annual pass is $25- I wonder if that will get you in Baker Creek as well? So I think it is worth the trip for something different; plus some great restaurants in Columbia. this should be a link to the trail map page- www.state.sc.us/forest/refhartg.htm

"Lost Creek" and "flow" are not words I typically associate with each other. Still my favorite trail out there though.
